Blog SEO: 1 main author and many contributors or 10 main authors?

Hi guys,

Im sorry if this question has been asked, or maybe is silly, but my CEO insisted on asking it and I can't argue with him

There is a company and 10 PhDs are working in it. They have just set up a new website and are planning to have a blog in place as well. All those PhD guys are planning to contribute to the blog. So the question is:

Is it better for Google, SEO, IM etc. that there are 10 different authors set up, or 1 main author and all the articles are published from 'his name'?

I am a little bit mixed up with this myself, because I don't see a difference SEO wise.

  • It would be better for SEO purposes and visitors to have one main blog homepage with each PhD contributing articles to a common blog homepage using their own name and attribution tags.

  • I think it not different. You should focus article.
  • No Issues its best if you have more and not only 10 researches writing over blog. Tell them to share their authorship and contribution. You can also share a link in website with Contributors to that website. That will add additional authority and of course it will help you.

    • ROTFLMAO! Someone got a fake diploma in a cracker jacks box and
now thinks they are a real PhD!

CEO? PHDs? Can we get any sillier?

I can only assume those Chinese U graduates never read any real journals,
online or otherwise, visited any real websites but fiverr, 'cuz the whole
question and post is really, really inane. And that's putting it mildly.

I guess that PhD did not come with common sense.

      Pure fantasy, people. Pure fantasy.

It's getting easier to believe that people actually answer that with a "real"
answer. Even though it should be getting harder.

Now, how many phds does it take to screw in a light bulb?

    • Thanks a mil! I totally agree with this

  • Hi.. i know from my husband experience (he has a lot of blogs) (and the possibility to pay people to write for him)..
they publish 18 to 25 blog post per day, writers are contributors from all around the country, the sites are very young and with almost no SEO they are getting 8K to 9K unique visitors per day....
so, the old receipt: "write a lot of good content is always valid".. i think it is not important if there is a main author plus contributors but a lot of good content from different ID Addresses. Is seems that Google recognize this as a sort of authoritative site...

    Good luck with your CEO

    • Thank you so much for sharing your hubby's experience! I think that's a great strategy once the content is good as you said.

As far as ranking pages it doesn't matter which one you pick.

If they're actually PhDs, they probably each want individual credit for their own work/content but that doesn't have anything to do with SEO unless your doing something with Google Scholar in Google SERPs.
  • Agree with the answer of zeus
