What is the optimum keywords density in an article?

What is the optimum keywords density in an IM article on any niche (health, beauty, education, etc)?

How is optimum to choose the tags used for the article: single words, or longer combinations (2-4 words), in order for Google to like the article and rank it highly?

    It is important to use keyword variations instead of using the same keywords. Use of the same keyword many times in the article will hamper readability.

      under 1% i find works well for me and that includes page titles, meta disc, etc aswell. Also vary the keywords and make it sound nice and el-natural hope that helps

    Don't think in terms of keyword density. Just write normally, add some long tails and LSI and you'll be fine.

    I don't believe in keyword density, I prefer natural flow of content.
    When writing an article, you do not focus on how it will be seen by google or any search engines, you should be focusing on how it will interest your audience.
    Use the keywords you want to use but put your audience first before of anything else.
    If your target audience like your content then so as search engines too.

    Best and ideal is under 2% but if your article is impressive and require than you can go for 3% also but article must for readers not only for search engine....

      An old school question. you can find people and tools to measure that now, but you are probably better off going with a decently written LSI type article. ONe which uses related keywords and phrases instead of relying on a number to tel you how many times to put your keyword in an article.

      It also depends on how long your article is. If I write a 1500 word post, my Yoast plugin tells me my keyword density 0% because it rounds off most things below 1%

      But there is no doubt what my article is about because of the way it is written using related keywords and concepts. Nobody forgets what the article is about while they are reading through it, and my keywords are places strategically throughout the article.

      A pretty good rule of thumb is to have a page written around a single main keyword with 5 or 6 related keywords used in the copy. That has served me wll for along time.

    In my opinion, use as many keywords as you can, without sounding too repetitive. I mean, write your articles, then read them to yourself. If they sound good to you, then you should be fine. If you feel keywords are repeated too many times and it annoys you, them remove some of them.

    Many SEO tools will report you on keyword density, and our software is not an exception, yet I would personally say it's not that important to be that focused on the exact figure. If you have user value as your priority in mind and write content naturally, it should do the trick.

    Forgot to mention this earlier, when writing articles with a specific number of words, I use this tool called wordcounter.net. It's a website that also calculates the density of your keywords, it's pretty helpful.

    people say between 1 - 3 % , but to be honest, I ignore that and write naturally and authentically, however many times the keyword comes out naturally is fine with me

    I agree with most replies, write natural quality content. As long as the keyword is mentioned once or twice, whether it'd be in the header or within the content, you should be fine. If it so happens that you need to use the keyword more than that when writing, by all means go for it.

    It's always easier to rank for long tail keywords, do your research and check out its competition.
