The Kind Of Sites I Want To Build in 2015 And Beyond

According to Andrew Hansen whom I bought his Unstoppable and Forever Affiliate courses, this is the kind of site that Google wants to see more often now and in the future.

http://dappered.com/

And because of that, I have bookmarked and be referring to it from time to time as I go about building my sites.

It's simple plain black and white background but the images and content it contains are both engaging and valuable to readers.

Not my affiliate link but actual link of the site.

Sometime ago last year, I did post 2 diagrams as examples of how to do SEO the way Google wants here.

Most of you don't agree.

But whichever, this is the direction I intend to go into this year and beyond.

No call-to-action above the fold. I have no idea what the conversion goal is.

The homepage of my authority affiliate site uses a similar setup, so do my category pages that I aim to rank (though they don't have a slider), the only action above the fold is a banner to Amazon, you think that's bad?

Obvious the reviews / posts are monetized.

I know quite a lot of site builders that don't monetize their homepage and they are doing very well, people become tired of screaming ads and leave your site in an instant when it's over monetized in obvious ways.

I have a single sitewide banner ad in my best traffic site header, currently at 9% conversion rate. One ad is hardly screaming, not even close to overkill.

Oh that's a decent one, 468x80 and aligned to the right I assume?

I do admit I lately started to demonetize my homepages and improved theme/site quality, though my time on site improved I see a decline in clicks, and more importantly sales, I used real decent content for this site from someone that is a hobbyist in that niche, and it converts like shit. I thought when people are presold the conversions would go up, but it seems people only get more doubts the more information they read, and can't decide on which product to buy within the 24 hours that the cookie expires (Amazon).

Seriously thinking about scrapping that idea and heavily monetizing my homepage again (though without banners for the most part, just textlinks like I did before, which always worked out well).

Others don't seem to have the problem I ran into, maybe niche dependent, who shall say. Very annoying though.

EDIT: Just added a sitewide banner with white background 728x90 in my header, my site also has whiteback ground so not disturbing and nicely aligned. Let's see what that does!

It's an old Adsense size (728x90) from back when I ran Adsense. It performed well with Adsense so I kept the size & swapped out with my own ad. Top/center in the header, blends in with the rest of the site (text/link colors).

This is a full-scale e-commerce site not just the usual info products like from Clickbank review sites.

The aim is to provide as much as what people like to know and get them to click the link.
