I set up a new site about 2 - 3 weeks ago
I submitted it to bing and google

While I am still doing seo the site has been picked up by google
However there seems to be no record of it in either bing or yahoo

Is their some reason for this does bing take longer to register a site or whats the story

You can see if it is indexed by searching for - site:yoursite.com - (change yoursite.com to the URL of your site). You can also look in Bing Webmaster Tools and submit your sitemap or submit each URL separately.

Yes, you should definitely add your sitemap to Bing Webmasters.

Sometimes, Bing indexes slower new websites.

Google, sometimes indexes even new domains without content or without a single backlink.

Bing Webmasters also allows you to manually submit up to 10 site URL-s (per day if I'm not mistaken).

Bing is relatively slow in terms of indexing so you shouldn't be worried or surprised. Just wait, and keep building links while waiting.

Not really, my new sites are all in bing.

Just ping it with your sitemap

      Code:
      http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?sitemap=
After the part where it says sitemap= Put the *working* link to your sitemap there.

I agree 100% up until the you said "Not as if Bing is a moneymaker." Uh what? Some of my sites get more Bing traffic then Google, granted, it's not the norm but, that's a really silly statement.

You need to submit it yourself, search engines don't always work the way we want them to work. Meanwhile, post frequent updates and quality content, chances to have your pages indexed will increase

Just get few backlinks and your website will index in bing, google and any other search engines. No need to submit URL anywhere

Can you get estimates on how many people actually use Bing in your country? That would tell you if this is relevant at all. I've seen quite a few sites that don't rank in Bing for some reason, but it's usually not high on todo list.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Have you done as suggested in post #7 and submitted it to Bing? here

I submitted a brand new site to that link last week and the domain was indexed in 12 hours, with all pages crawled and indexed within 3 days.
