I have a website that I have submitted to GWT for all the three versions. http://, http://www, and https://www. Now I am confused which version of the URL should I set as a preferred domain? Presently, My web website has the redirection in https://www version and the preferred domain is set to http://www . Any help would be appreciated.

  • If you have an SSL certificate, the https version should appear in the index while the other versions redirect to it.

    • Yes, My other versions redirects to the https version. But my confusion is about the Google Webmaster Tools. I am not sure which version should I set. Another thing is, previously I was linking my site using the http://www version and now using the https://www version. Is it Ok or I am creating confusion to Google too.
  • In my view of point , you can always try with http://www into your domain starting .It will be supports .
  • You have to set your preferred domain into your website redirection link: https://www

    • There is no provision in Google Webmaster Tools that you can set your domain as https://www
  • In your case set your preferred domain to www as you can only choose between www and non-www versions.
