For reasons unknown to me, apparently I've violated Adwords TOS, and they've suspended me. I've done my research, and apparently it's 90% a death sentence from Google, tho I've still trying to get reinstated.

Anyhow, I still urgentlly need to keep moving forward, so now looking at Yahoo and MSN.

Can someone please point me in the right direction? Any tips/tricks? I hear all 3 are COMPLETELY different animals, so want to do it right from the start (and not get freakin banned again!)

Are there ways to get free credits etc as a new sign up for MSN and Yahoo?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Dwad

I was promoting golf swing Goober via a review site, a fatloss review site, and a "how to make money" product review site. think that's it. just 3 campaigns. nothing out of the usual or unethical. clean websites, 1 was a wordpress blog.

I think the problem was that I used too many symbols in my ad copy i.e. ~ ! ? etc. I didn't read thru the TOS and didn't think this wud be a prob. Apparently it IS. Otherwise, I really have NO IDEA what I did wrong!

At first, I was having problems with Adwords accepting my credit cards (3 total), even tho I KNEW there was funds available. So I called, emailed etc, n a few days later, they said it was a technical issue, but their specialists had fixed it, and to retry my cards.

It worked! however, there was NO ACTIVITY for nearly 2 weeks, even when I had a $300/day budget set, and like $0.75 Max CPC set! So that's why I ended up contacting them. All of a sudden, these are the emails I got: (From bottom up)

    A warning to Adwords users:

If you get a message along the lines of "your ad is disapproved", find out exactly why it was. If you just say "I don't see anything wrong with it" and submit the same kind of ad, Google will eventually ban your account for repeatedly violating the rules.

Some of them, off top of my head:

    * violating display and landing page URL rule,
    * excessive capitalization,
    * excessive use of special characters, including exclamation points,
    * landing page with pop ups,
    * landing page that is a phising scam. Stop promoting such pages immediately.
    * and definitely having more than one account (see http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...s-warning.html)

dwad says he's trying to get reinstated. To my knowledge, nobody ever was reinstated after getting banned.

MSN (Bing) and Yahoo have differences. MSN's Adcenter is more like Adwords as far as concepts go. YSM I find trickier to use, partly because of interface, partly because of the different terms they use such as Tactics when referring to keyword match options.

      Hi Dwad
Its not the end of the world

Ive been making reasonable money on Yahoo and MSN for 8 months now with CPA offers.

In fact they outperform what I've done on Google by a mile.

Both are more relaxed than google and you will get away with direct linking.

Yahoo is a bit backward with there interface, but their is an enormous amount of traffic there.

Dont forget there are quiet a few 2nd Tier search engines and some have traffic for as little as 2 cents.

      And it converted!

When I set up a test campaign its always MSN and Yahoo.

You can still make good money online without Google.

Is this for sure? I actually heard from a training program that you normally have to first make a landing page that's a "watered down" version of what you're really trying to promote...let it get reviewed/accepted, THEN put up the real version of the site?

As for direct linking, is it def not against their policy?

I direct link and I frame on Yahoo and MSN every day.
I never set up a website until I find a performing offer.

Sorry to bust the bubble, but I was recently banned due to some issues with Google. Got the same emails, and thought I had the same situation. I contacted them, and got the details for the ban. Apparently an old site I had been promoting got hacked and was pushing malware. I just happened to be collateral damage. I wiped those ads from my Adwords account, torched the landing pages from my domain, and requested a review. Took a few days, but they re-instated my account.

Thanks Chris! Couldn't get that link to work tho, so just did a search.

Indeed, Yahoo is a little funky to configure. Even the Geo-Targeting is a little weird. Is it just me, or do I have to make a new campaign to Target outside Canada and USA? That's the default, and I can't find how to add more like UK and Australia...
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[993735].message }}

Generally you will have to set up a separate account for UK and Australia.

But once you start spending a few bucks with Yahoo you can email them and they will set up a Sub account in your master US account.

And you choose which countries you would like them to set up in each sub account.

I got UK and Germany set up myself.

How much is a few bucks? I'm a little weary about contacting support, after being suspended from Adwords without even knowing what I did wrong!

Also, so I looked in the Admin section of my account, and there was a bit there about geo-targeting, and it was pre-set to "Block These Areas", and it had Asia, Australia, Europe" checked. So I unchecked them, and actually too ALL of the geo-targeting off. Will this open me up to worldwide exposure, or do I HAVE to geo-target?

OK, so now I'm really confused. Is there a major lag in the time that changes take place with Yahoo? I've had various strange things happen already.

At first, I set the campaign max a bit higher, but the keyword max CPC low still.

However, I still got charged an arm and a leg per click! So I went and made sure the each and every max CPC was around $0.50, but it still shows that I'm paying up to $4+/click on some! I made the changes early Sunday morning, my time, which is about 12 hours ahead of USA, however, after logging in just now, I've still paid some insane amounts per click!

Also, once the prepaid amount was depleted, I went to top up the funds, but it stayed the same, and wasn't running my ads, so I tried again. Now it says I've got $X(high amount) available, but it says I've spent like $x(also high!) already? This is really doing my head in!

Lucky you Buzzword...I called them about 6 times, emailed support, spoke to numerous people, all "wanted to help", but those emails I posted above was the best I got.

After thinking about it a lot, I think it may have been because I had Google Cash Detective's "Automater" crawling my account (for all of 3-4 days!). Google's TOC's state this is against the rules...
