Can Local SEO detrimental to local businesses

What many businesses fail to realise when having their businesses optimised is that any marketing is based on the premise that the business can retain a percentage of the new clients and therefore their customer service needs to be first class and their products in demand, no one will return to a restaurant if the waiter is rude or the food is undercooked. In this case good local SEO and web design will only result in hastening the demise of the business.

Local businesses need to have a good local reputation generating positive word of mouth recommendations as well as having a good digital footprint.

      Because his clients are ruining his SEO work by having bad reputations. How can you list well in the SERPS if your client has a bad waiter?
