Is it possible to get ghost link-farmed and banned from Google?

Hey fellas,

Lately I have this huge paranoia that I might get link-farmed by competitors and banned from Google. Since 90% of my traffic consists of search results, it might get my business shut down.
Do you think that if I get link-farmed Google would ban me? I mean, I wouldn't be the first case they'd have to deal with, but my website is small, so it would be easier for them to ban it, than spend time reviewing it.

And in order to use the appeal program, you need to delete all those links, which is impossible if you get link-farmed by someone.

Did Google ever publicly deal with such problem before?

Just pray it doesn't happen because if it does, your website is toast. Google won't spend any time reviewing small websites but you can still file a reconsideration request if you are lucky and get a manual penalty rather than an algorithmic one.

It could happen, but don't let your fear stop you from going forward. If you do get banned or penalized for no apparent reason, ask google to review your website and, well.. pray that they will.
