I am optimizing a website that used to rank on 1st page a while ago, now its ranked on 2nd page

I checked sites that are currently ranked on 1st page and found out that their brand search is really high (2000-2500 searches per month) through keyword planner and google keyword suggestion list

I want to bring my website back on top and also want to increase my brand search keywords

Thanks

If you want your brand to get searched more often, you have to promote it in ways to have it become a recognized name in the industry. I would focus on doing a lot of three things:

    1) AdWords and other PPC advertising.
    2) Social promotion.
    3) Press releases.

Note: For press releases, I do not mean a constant stream of useless crap. I mean doing press releases when you have something worthwhile to announce.

Focus hard on those things for a year, and you are likely to see your brand searches increase.

    Hi,

I've been experimenting with Crowdsearch.me for a couple of months now. If you run a campaign with branded anchor text, it can give your brand name a boost in Google's eyes.
What you really want is for the auto complete feature in Google search to start showing your brand name as soon as you start to type it. Then you know that Google has started to notice your brand.

The other thing is that in your link building, you should be aiming for 50% branded anchor text with lots of variations within it (i.e Apple.com, Apple, new iPhone launched by Apple, Apple.com now worlds biggest company etc)

I like your link building strategy, people normally keep adding backlinks with keyword rich anchor text, forgetting one day their website may get penalized

Search for your brand name consistently using different proxies to increase your brand searches. Alternatively, you can use crowdsearch.me (mentioned above) to get it done faster.
