Value of Embedding Video

Hello Fellow Warriors,
I have been spending some development time getting the Old method of embedding video flash objects on our web pages working on all platform including mobile.
Youtube does not even offer this on the site anymore but the perception is if you use a video iframe it has zero SEO value but if you use a video object embed it has more value.
We were using wistia's SEO video object embed before youtube started to block it in search but now we are trying to recreate the same thing using youtube.
Is it worth getting the video embeds working everywhere? Are we wasting our time? Based on my Research using iframes does not help the page rank.
Video is kind of our big selling point. Some insight into this would be great. If you have a source for your information that would also be helpful.
