Question about SEO and making money

Hi guys,

I'm really really new to all of this. Just started 2 weeks ago. Financially I have to start making more money from somewhere. So I researched and found that there are some people doing internet marketing for a living. I figured I'll give it a try. I have nothing to lose.

I've never even made a web page. All of this is new. I ran across a guy named LazyAssStoner on Youtube (i think he explained a lot of this stuff in layman terms for people like me to understand the basics). So i figured I'd give this stuff a try.

I have only $17 vested so far. I think I paid $7 for a domain name and $10 for a Hostgator account. I found a fairly low competitive niche (according to Google keywords) that interest me and I'm knowledgeable about, I wrote about 10 original articles, surprisingly I made a webpage that works, I applied for Google adsense and was approved yesterday, I put Ad's on my website, posted my site on Facebook and i made $0.69 cents yesterday! lol.

I read a lot about the importance of keywords to improve Google ranking. So i've spread my key words throughout the pages, headers and titles.

A couple questions.. My site is very new (1 week new) is there anything else I can do to boost traffic? Am i being too impatient? I have limited money to spend on this will that be okay? How much money do most people make doing adsense pages? I'd love to hear how some of you started out in this field, if you're successful and if I'm going about this the right way as a newbie

Thanks for reading!

If you want to make a living out of a blog, more than money you will need time and patience. I think you're a bit excited about this and it's normal, but passion is a good way to drive yourself in any career!

I wouldn't recommend to install adsense so early cause it might drive away some visitors and harm your traffic. Start by giving value, grow your audience, become an authority in your niche and then you can start earning from adsense or affiliate programs.
I hope you have installed google analytics and webmaster tools this way you can see how much traffic you have. Just as an exercise of imagination, check your traffic and picture how much would you like to earn to live decently. If you wanted to earn $1000, had a traffic of, let's say, 50 visits and you got $0.69, your traffic should go to 72463. That's a shitload of traffic, so keep working on it, get good at it and let's see what opportunities you find on your way.

I agree with @AndresNWD 2 weeks is too short of a time to really know how your website (or any activity, even IRL) is doing, if you wanted some suggestions and tips, I could say:

Create social media accounts and post as often as you can (trying not to annoy your users and followers)

Create new posts at least 3 times a week

Optimize your blog posts for the keywords you're targeting (consider that it will take a month or more for Google and other search engines to index your pages well)

Join groups, forums and discussions targeting your niche

Read posts over posts on how to increase your views, there are a lot of good articles out there

Yeah, that's the major problem. I am trying to index newly created pages and they are not getting indexed. My site has total 135 posts and only 58 are indexed according to webmasters tool. When I submit pages again indexed pages increase in count by a couple but why not all the pages are getting indexed. Any idea?

If it's been at least a week from when you posted the article, it should be indexed (try to search the exact link on Google or use the Google Webmaster Tools, it'll probably show up).

The only problem is that search engines take a lot of time to index a page for its keywords, backlinks, etc... your page might be on their records, but it "hasn't received score yet".

Before launching your website have you done with research work or keyword research. Before earn money online you have to work on planning. I mean where you want to earn money, from Affiliate programs or Adsense ads or somewhere else because different income sources needs different planning.

My question is a bit related to this topic. I have got adsense approved in one of my website but no more that 150 visitors and Zero click. What should I do to increase the click. I too don't have more bucks.

@Rory614 ..... You are already doing well. You made money within a week. This means you know what you are doing. The only thing missing is patience. Just keep posting articles that will interest your facebook friends or group, and start telling them to share your blogs with their friends.

You can't expect to start earning money in the first week.. You can't even start with good money maybe in your 1st month.. You need to be patient, calm, work hard.. Now be ready with new content. Continue with your Social Media Marketing.. Don't forget to build other GOOD and QUALITY backlinks!

For anyone looking to see results in a shorter timeframe with adsense, try not to rush into it too excited, keyword research is the most important thing to do here. If you put your efforts into keywords with too much competition (or low cpc) it will take you much longer to rank for them even with immaculate content and good backlinks.

If you want to rank your website quickly, try to 1st tier link building in 1st month and after that focus on 2nd tier and 3rd tier link building, which is must required for ranking your website.
