Nofollow links, lets discuss

Are 'nofollow' links really rendered useless?

I am getting more attached to a few blogs which I have bene using over the last month or two, and I am using my URL in the 'Website URL' box - which then adds the link as a nofollow.

If I was to be relatively active on a range of blogs, and contribute while getting no follow links on these blogs - would it potentially affect our ranking?

Thanks.

Nofollow links pass no link juice but they are still links. Google won't pass any link juice but it adds to the naturalness of the link profile.

Nofollow is not natural. It was invented by google to combat spam.

So what does that tell you? To go out and get a bunch of nofollow links?
      For what purpose?

The very idea of nofollow is an act of signalling that the link might be spam,
      untrusted, and unmoderated.

There is nothing natural about nofollow.

But giving people bad advice seems to be quite natural for a lot of you.

(I hate any thread that starts with "let's discuss." That too is a spam signal.)

dont overthink :-) and dont waste too much time building nofollow backlinks, instead write some new good content for your site and build a few follow links with your keyword as anchor text, that's way better that commenting the whole day for nofollow links :-)
    cheers

There is no matter what links you would are building. Either it is nofollow or dofollow? Literally it happens that google looks out for the natural way of link building. Making it more optimal in the way, sticking to build the links naturally makes a huge difference and the website will also gain more rapport in terms of the web world.

Generally, don't target nofollow links in the hopes of increased Google rankings. Yet do not ignore them just because they are nofollow. They are still beneficial in other ways.

NoFollow links are still important. They are still links pointing to the site. I think we all just need to know where these nofollow links will come from.

Don't think about the follow/nofollow but go with the flow and build links from high traffic and established/trusted sites over the time. That migh be a better way towards natural or more concisely manual link building.
