Other sites like WEEBLY or BLOGGER to boost SEO

I have continued to be surprised at how well my Weebly sites and Blogger (blogspot) sites have done in SERPs... great results. So, what the heck... are there other sites I should create content on? I have quite a number of related websites and scatter links here and there; I know people say don't do it but it's worked for me and I've been doing it several years. I do think I write good, relevant content on all of them.

I have a very narrow niche and the competition is not too burdensome.

  Yes. And the next steps involves building a backlink profile to that blog site. Just using a platform like Blogger or Weebly isn't going to give you any boost, because they don't link to your site.

Why don't you create your own website to write on, and use those platforms to promote it? By blog commenting or guest posting, all the while having your own website to link to to get traffic?

Yes. I like your idea, ALWAYS work on your website. Create one and do connect them (with backlinks) to your main website!

These are called Web 2.0 sites. As you see, tons of them have already been shared in this thread. But, you can just do a Google search for "web 2.0 site list" or similar, and find other lists of them online.

I like Tumblr and wordpress as well for ranking in the SERPs.

Take a look at your niche and see what web 2 sites are ranking, that will give you a good idea of what you can use successfully.

  The platform some of the successful guys use doesn't mean anything at all. Google isn't preferring one CMS over another as far as anyone can tell.

I like the idea of creating your own website for your main site, then use those other sites to promote your main site. That way you get all the benefit and a seo bump.

Where are you getting the backlinks to those other websites? That's the core issue here. For some reason everyone is just ignoring this very hard question.
