Is My Landing Page KILLING My SEO Rank?

I just moved my blog from the root of the domain / to /blog so that I could put a forced opt-in form on the index page. Once the user enters his name/email, he gets redirected to /blog.

After I made this change, something occurred to me: since there is no link to /blog on the root page of the domain (so I can force the viewer to opt-in) then Google would obviously have trouble indexing my site, right? What is the best way to setup a forced opt-in page in conjunction with a blog?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :-)

Just be sure you include a robots.txt file in your root directory telling the bots to read all subdirectories. Should be no problem.

And if you want to be extra sure, post a few articles and comments around at different sites, with links pointing back to one or more of your blog posts in their new home. Once the search engines find one article, they'll find all of them, since it's a blog.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,
