This is what Google has to say about sitelinks: (https://support.google.com/webmaster...er/47334?hl=en)

        "1: The main search result

        2: Sitelinks

We only show sitelinks for results when we think they'll be useful to the user. If the structure of your site doesn't allow our algorithms to find good sitelinks, or we don't think that the sitelinks for your site are relevant for the user's query, we won't show them.

At the moment, sitelinks are automated. We're always working to improve our sitelinks algorithms, and we may incorporate webmaster input in the future. There are best practices you can follow, however, to improve the quality of your sitelinks. For example, for your site's internal links, make sure you use anchor text and alt text that's informative, compact, and avoids repetition."

So, you gots to ask yourself 2 questions:

        1. Do I have a site structure that lets Google's algos find sitelinks?
        2. Do you have pages on your site relevant to a user's query?

For #2, an example: if your site is about
        how to lose weight fast
and your page 1 is about how to lose weight fast
and your page 2 is about how to lose weight quickly
and your page 3 is about fast weight loss

        you're not getting sitelinks.

If, on the other hand, your site is about insurance
and your first page is about insurance, in general
and your second page is about car insurance
and your third page is about home insurance
and your fourth pages is about business insurance

Google will probably show a site map in response to something like
insurance agents near me... because it doesn't know what insurance type the searcher has in mind

If your site is about insurance
and your home page is about insurance, in general
and your second page is about I'm an awesome insurance agent
and your third page is about buy from me, me, me

        you don't get a sitemap.

PS I know all these because I have sites that don't get sitemaps and sites that do. And the above is the difference.

Here's the secret to mega sitelinks, multiple relevant internal authority pages connected with internal links.

The longer the keyword phrase, the easier it is to get mega sitelinks.
