How to get Traffic from USA?

Hi Guys,

Am working for a website, which is related Medical Billing field. It is a USA based company site. But facing very hard time to get traffic from US. Most of the visits from India only.
Please help any one to get traffic from USA.

  • You are from India and may built links from Indian sties, that is what you are getting traffic from India.

    Build links from US based sites and use US based keywords for targeting.

  • To take a little more advantage of Geo-targeted tarffic, you can also set Geo-location in the GWT account to help it show your site for country targeted search results.

      First of all, nice to see telugu conversation here. I feel scared to reply to you in telugu as it may lead to penalty.

      Further, I have website having .com extension and optimized for google.co.in for few keywords. My client based from india doing business in India .Now wants to have traffic from USA for the same .com website. I also set geo-location as USA in GWT. The website is hosted on godaddy server in USA. If i want to target USA traffic, do i need to include a phrase of USA word something any city or location in the keyword i choose. Right now, I have chosen a leyword without any name or phrase of USA or any city in the current keyword.

      Also, since my client is based in india and wants to drive traffic from USA, how far is it feasible since the website is based in india having address of india on the website. I have my fingers crossed on this. I have checked Google analytics for seach queries from USA for the website and selected one keyword without phrase of location in USA being added. I find from analytics that 20 sessions are coming from USA and also traffic is less.

      If the website is based from USA, i feel it would not be problem to get traffic. I request you to give your suggestions


  • You need to target and optimize your site (both on-site factors and off-site social media signals and backlinking) for USA related keywords.

    For instance you want to target Dallas, then you want to use phrases such as 'medical billing Dallas'. Chances are, you didn't even do that, hence you're ranked mainly for where you're based in - India.

  • It's hard attracting US visitors. I'd recommend you do the following:

    1) Set 'United States' as the preferred country in Google webmasters
    2) Target US based keywords For eg. 'Medical Company in New York' etc.

    These changes could might help you attract US visitors. Do let me know if that works for you.

  • What kind of backlinks did you build? Are they from Indian websites? This looks strange.. Also, try Social Media sites to get some extra traffic! Just do NOT spam!

  • First of all what's your domain name is your domain is (.co or .co.in or .in) than It's not suitable to getting the traffic through SEO :- It's Very hard..

    But If your domain with (.com) means you are targeting internationally your base firm from USA. Then after you need to Focus on Social Media Activity to Get back traffic. Also create new strategy and innovative ideas for Business Related.

  • You can try doing some local SEO, targeting people from certain areas / cities. You should also focus on building quality links, preferably from American websites f you need traffic from the US. Promoting your website on social media, in groups with members who are from the US should help too.

    I understand what you are trying to do for your website. But my question is, did you do your homework before launching your website? I think one of the reasons why you are getting Indian traffic is because of the keyword itself. You just need to research the chosen keyword first if what countries are mostly searching that keyword. Probably the keywords that you target for your website are mostly being searched by Indians.

    It is time to do your homework though. Take your time research effective keywords that are mostly being searched by US people, but with high amount of monthly searches and low to moderate competition.
