SEO on personal site

Straight to it; I have created myself a personal site, put quite a lot of content on there about me and the projects I have worked on etc. Primarily targetting my name + 'south west seo consultant'.

I have submitted it to Google, setup sitemaps etc all the basic stuff. I have been driving social signals from Google+ and Twitter to my site, and I have linked myself up on one of two blog posts I have created on other sites.

How else could I create links for my site?

    Why don't you try Guest Posting, I'm not telling to use it for purely link building purpose. Instead use it for branding purpose and can also help you to get some SEO projects.

    make profiles on the high quality sites on the planet ... make fan pages on google + , facebook , twitter , linkdin etc .... also make profiles on big forums and post regularly ....

    I advise you to write short posts about your topic and visit these site: craiglist; yahoo answer; articlezines. When you are there put link back to your site but make attention to put link in bottom of your posts on these site. If the link is in top of your posts Google will not consider your link.

    • If you have contact details on your website along with address, you can go for local business listing.
    • Keep updating your blog frequently.
    • Participate in good SEO forums to share and explore your knowledge.
    • I think Guest posting on high authorized websites with unique post would be a great idea. Approach few top SEO blog editors with a nice tip either through mail or contact us field.
    • Also, be a regular commentator on those sites that would help build up your identity among the SEO experts.

    If you want to rank using the keywords "seo consultant", you would have to build credibility for the people who would use your services. So, blog commenting on SEO blogs, writing guest posts, using social bookmarking should help you the most.
