Can social bookmarks hurt SEO/

Hello Bret,

I generally build 15 to 25 social bookmarks to my money site. Yes, they are definitely a bit of help in having good back link profile.

And i would never go for 800+ bookmarks to my money site nor even to my tier sites. Having so many bookmarks is not good, of course not sure how much it can hurt. But surely they wont be any help coming to rankings.

If you would like to purchase gigs from fiverr then please pay attention here for few times.
Basically maximum people on fiverr complete their gigs with black hat technique.
If you see their customer review you will get more idea.
Do not look for quantity on fiverr look for quality. I was also planning to buy a package 120 high PR social bookmark in only US$5. But when i see review i come back from my deceision.

800+ links in a go is kind of overboard. It will surely get your site penalized. Try doing it bit by bit, say 30-40 per day, you understand.

Since most are nofollows they'll work pretty well. I've tried it.

Don't over do it by using that. I know people who bought such services on Fiverr who got their site to be un-indexed (not drop in rankings, but completely removed).

Always ask yourself the golden question, "Would __insert 'SEO technique'__ actually happen in real life if there was no artificial intention to do so?" If the answer is yes, then okay, go ahead with it, otherwise do not.

If most are nofollow, it's ok. Still 800 Social Bookmarking has chance to penalize your site. Just start with 20 to 30. Try to get links from top social bookmarking sites.

You won't have much impact with those low quality links, go on some forums and find services that sell Social Bookmarks that are quality. I wouldn't buy it from fiverr.

Paid links have a greater chance to consider as spam by Google. Hence, I will suggest you to build natural backlink to your website.
When you post your website link to social bookmarking sites then write unique description, and title related to your niche.
Always put your link in the business relevant category, so that they could not consider as spam.

Social Bookmarking is surely helpful for your site ranking. But do not do a huge number of back links at a time. Daily not more than 8-10. And try do high PR bookmarks. Hope you will get result because I am getting results by this way.

Not exactly. But drip feed links is very important factor for SEO. My personal advice, Please do 50-100 backlinks/per day to your website.

It's safe and gets some strong ranking on SERP.

I don't think that you should purchase links from feverr. When somebody links to your site google considers relevancy. You obviously want a link from a dental directory when you deal with automobile business. Getting tons of links from sites in a short notice might also trip google spam filter. Just make sure that you earn the link, not build or purchase them.

It would be nice if the mods locked some of the threads... I'm sure we've already seen every variation of the one-line "yes, it's bad!!1" post.

As Paul said this kind of spam run probably does nothing at all. There's constant flow of sites on WF that have couple of thousand crap links. Were most of them penalized? Doesn't seem so. Is there any change of them ranking? Well, ranking with worthless links is not very likely if there's any competition.

Since people can just search through different subjects or tags in order to find thing faster, spamming is increased, a risk that would not have elevated if social bookmarking users would only receive recommended links from people whom they have subscribed to.

Well, unless you are getting manual links, and you are paying $$$ for them, you'll be wasting money for a potential penalty.

800 links for $5 or $10? Those are junk software-generated links that will end up in shady websites or directories or in fake social profiles, none of them with any relevance at all. If someone had the power to generate 800 useful links, they wouldn't be selling them on Fiverr for pennies. That amount of links takes hours or even days to generate if they are going to be legitimate and have any quality.

In other words, you'll get what you pay for.

Too many i.e. 800+ social bookmarks will confirm hurt your site rankings but google will not penalize your site because most of them are nofollow.I think 20-30 social bookmarks are good enough but a large number of bookmarks on same day will be considered as spam so work slowly and naturally and also add sharing buttons on your webpage so that other people can also bookmark them.
Remember never go for shortcut, always work hard and left it for natural backlinking and never buy cheap backlinks from fivver which will confirm hurt your site.

well, most of them are nofollow, but I recommend that you don't buy backlink because Google always implicitly to track the purchase and sale of any valid Backlink. Google has also previously warned that any attempt to purchase Backlinks to improve website rankings are violating their principles, Google will handle the website from reducing the quality of Backlink at the website until sanctions reduce the ranking or worse is that website deindex (on the last update Panda and Penguin).
