Title.

Is a PBN site being previously redirected a red flag? I found a site that looks good in every aspect, except on Archive.org it was redirected to another site for about 2 months now. Does that mean it loses it's power, or no?

I don't know what "PBN site" has to do with this, except to assume you are considering the domain to include in your PBN.

If whatever "power" you think the site is due in part to the redirect, then yes, that will be going away. We don't know if the redirect ended a week ago or three years ago.

Any site that has been redirected is a red flag. You need to look at the site it was redirecting to and try to evaluate why there was a redirect. Was it a rebrand? Or was the site trashed after being penalized?

    .

It wasn't penalized. It's still ranking in Google even though it doesn't exist.

What exactly does your second paragraph mean? Okay, I just double checked and it turns out it's been redirected since 2013.

So if I buy it and set up a site, it won't have any linking power?

      Edit:

To clarify: The site being redirected TO, will likely lose whatever power it gained, if the redirect is taken down. Or will it, since it's been there 2 years?

I assumed it would. But my main concern is if I buy the site that itself was redirected, and set up a page. Is it still going to have power, or is the power somehow now transferred to the site it was redirected to in Google's eyes?

Yes, the site it was being directed to will lose any power it gained from the redirect.

It will have whatever power it has from it's own backlinks. Have you checked its backlink profile? After being redirected for a couple of years, any sites that linked to it in the past may have removed those links. If it doesn't have any good backlinks remaining, then it has no power to give to any site it links to.

No it is not a red flag. Just be sure the links to the site are still there.

I may be wrong, but I like sites that were redirected to another domain for a few years. You can figure out why ...
