Where to find a full time SEO?

Hi Warrior Forum Denizens!

I work at a marketing agency and our in-house SEO Specialist is taking a leave of absence due to health reasons. Finding a replacement who is physically located near our office has been a challenge, so we are expanding our search to include working remotely with other specialists currently located in the U.S.

I've started to put out feelers and well, you can imagine the sheer volume of unqualified responses (I have been an SEO myself, so these are easy to spot). I would really like to tap into a better qualified pool of applicants since this is a 40 hour a week position and we would like to have this person be a real member of our team.

Do you have any tips on where to look for such a candidate? Sites to use or specific consultants you've had good experiences with? I'm already checking Indeed, Craigslist, Mashable and submitted a post to the Warrior for Hire section that I'm awaiting approval for. I just want to make sure we're throwing the widest net possible.

Thanks, all.

P.S. Trying to keep this post broadly informational on the topic of where to find candidates, so please PM me if you are interested in the actual position.

You might try odesk or warriors for hire to get a good SEO employee. Their are also many tips online that can help you do some of the work yourself. What is your product?

    Hi,

You can find SEO experts from Freelance, Elance , Guru, Odesk ...else if you want a permanent employee for your website then you can recruit a experienced person from job portals.

The best place to get is freelancer.com . Not only SEO but I look out for clients who are in search of all other projects related to IT. I undertake projects of various fields and outsource those to my team working under me. And have found freelancer as the best option to hook up with.

you may have to do some digging Best of luck!

I recommend Odesk. I have had very good experiences at Odesk. The pool of candidates is immense and worldwide. One person who I think is a star for programming works for Microsoft and lives in the Ukraine. He is great and a keeper.

It will be good to hire a person or two and give them some assignments and work with them for a while. Then, you will know if the person is competent and responsible by their work history with you.

I say, don't hire permanently right away, instead, hire for long term assignments until you find someone who is competent and compatible.

      Good luck!

Looking at all the responses (Odesk, Elance, Freelancer, etc...) in this thread I can only imagine all the junk OP has sifted through.

Those are the same type of people that think Alexa has something to do with SEO. Look at the Elance SEO test, one of the questions is about Alexa, lol.
