Getting "under construction" page indexed

My website is a work under construction and isn't going to be done for at least 2 months. However I bought the domain, because I don't want it registered by someone else. It's a generated starter page with "coming soon" sign and that's about it. What I was wondering is if it's a smart move (for domain aging) to get it indexed before any real content gets published? Will that have any negative or positive impact on my website once it gets published? And lastly (in case of positive feedback) how to get it indexed without entering content description or keywords (because I'm not 100% sure about any of those yet)?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I don't see any negative effect once you got your site up and for your under construction need not worry. No one would look up for under construction

I had a site indexed in late jun 2009, I did not enter any keywords and content description and I found google pickup the content description from other paragraph within the page. I had a blog in blogger.com which I don't enter any keyword but its content is all indexed. In case you haven't know yet, once your site is ready, use pingomatic.com or kping.com to ping your site, my blog gets updated in half an hour.

There is no use of indexing for an under construction site. Once you will upload your ready full site and will update the XML sitemap under Google webmaster tools, it will be indexed quickly. So nothing to worry but just concentrate on better SEO friendly designing.

its a total non issue these days, the big G will re-index the site once new content is added, just remember to add a meta for site description so it index's nicely.

    Hi,
There is not any negetive aspect of "Under Construction" page. You have to mention the date when your site will be up on your under construction page so that if your page will be viewed, it i will be helpful. Also when your site will be updated then it will be in search engine directory automatically.

I have seen that webmasters have a single page website initially and they build links to that single page website initially.

Google will index the under construction website but it will not have any benefit for you. People who surf net visits many websites a day and your domain, even it is very well popular, will not be remembered by anyone.

What i consider - It is better to index a website or start working on a website if it is totally completed. If not then first start building it, complete designing and contents part and then start optimization work.

Thank you all for your replies! That was quick.

Why I wanted to get my under construction site indexed is, because I read somewhere that one of the factors for higher PR is age of the domain. I'm also planning on using article spinner when my site is done and that will generate lots of links and maybe google would't be so suspicious if domain was 2 months old already.

I don't think that will bring you a negative feedback. However, via getting some QUALITY backlinks you can get your site indexed. (Yups, DIGG IT + MIXX IT + BLOG IT ==> submit your site to digg.com and get some diggs, submit your blog to mixx.com as well as create blog on blogger.com and submit there.... You will be indexing by google sooner.)
