  • What is your niche, and what do you mean by SEO tool? Link generator? On-page optimiser? A tool to reverse engineer your competitors' sites? Keyword analysis? If you can give us some pointers maybe we can make suggestions ;^)
  • I would recommend the adwords keyword tool. This will help you possibly find some related keywords to target.

    Good luck

    • I thought I need SEO tool to analyze keyword traffic, competition and then at the end get a niche

So.. I have to define my niche first and then choose a SEO tool? If so, let say my niche is "Travelling". What SEO tool you recommend?

      thanks,
      Samuel

  • 'Travelling' is a very huge niche you need to get less general than that if you want quicker profits. 'Travelling in City' is more specific and will get your profits more quickly as well as this you can be the expert on that city, authority brings traffic, traffic = money.

    • I would highly recommend Micro Niche Finder..I use that software everyday...it is my most valuable SEO tool..it does so many things along with niche finding..it does keyword analysis and spits out tons of great keywords..it does competition analysis..ppc costs...and so much more...check it out and see what you think.....NOT AN AFFILIATE LINK! Micro Niche Finder.

  • I am using for this purpose. That helps a lot, but I heard that it is not giving correct results - That may be a myth - NOT SURE about, For me it works fine.
  • Keyword Research and Tracking | Keyword Tool | Keyword Software - this set me down inside my competitions house and told me all kinds of inside information about their keyword targeting strategy...

  • If you are a newbie, the best Keyword Research tool to begin with is the FREE Google Keyword Search Tool. Try that first. If/when you need additional or specialized capabilities, then look at some paid tools.
  • The best keyword research tool is adwords external tool but you can also try market samuria. Its a nice tool and gives much more information. If you would like then you can give it a try.

    • I agree Market Samurai is a great new product to use to find keywords.

Obviously SEO Digger is not around anymore so what program is best to use to find out what keywords the top rating website on google are using?

  • Hello,

Google is definitely the kw tool you need now that they are actually showing numbers for the monthly searches. However, don't rely too much on those numbers as being 100% accurate. I've also used "Keyword Elite" and found that the competition numbers to be way off even though I checked Goolgle as the source.

  • Want to accurately determine your website's positions in the search engines? Advanced Web Ranking software is the perfect solution to any SEO marketing effort. See in real time exactly where a site is positioned, on any number of engines, even schedule the application to run automatically daily, weekly, monthly, etc. The rank evolution charts are very cool.
Uses a Google, or Yahoo API; software allows you to check position rankings across all search engines simultaneously. Also has a function to help find relevant keywords, allows scheduling for an unlimited number of customizable reports, runs on both Mac & Windows, has multiple language support, backup and restore, plus much, much more.

    • Another recommendation for Market Samurai There's a link floating around here somewhere for a 40 day free trial instead of the usual 12 day one too.
  • For free - definitely the google keyword tool. (Wordtracker has lost all respect from me lately). Actually the google tools are perfect and you really don't need more. The paid tools just aggregate and simplify the data.

Paid I'd go with Market Samurai (which has a free trial) although I've heard good things about micro niche finder

Must have firefox plugins are SEO for firefox that is off the whip, (seoquake a good alternative) and donofollow has helped me a great deal.
