Writing 20 articles using the same keywords is probably not a good idea. The idea is to target long tail keywords, preferably related to your main one.

My vote is for 1 main keyword = 20 articles. You have to remember that a site's focus is a ranking factor. Unless the 20 keywords are related to each other, I'd refrain from using them.

Now, If you want to build strong external links to something like a silo site structure then you'll have two advantages but just building pages isn't going to do anything in the SERPs.

It really depends on your competition. If you have virtually no competition for those 20 keywords, then I'd go with the 20 keywords/20 articles. But no competition is very unlikely.

So, in order for you to be effective in your niche you need to thoughtfully focus on select keywords. Gradually building more content and more backlinks with the focussed keywords that will bring you the most/best traffic.

20 main keywords= 20 articles is a good idea otherwise Google get to know you are targeting which keywords. Google like quality and natural links so work accordingly.

You should be working on the two factors for search engine ranking/optimization:
1. Off page optimization - getting high quality backlinks to your webpages and

I would suggest you work with one main keyword and in your 20 articles you include your related keywords around your main keyword. Google favors sites that are well themed... meaning most keywords that you use in your articles are interrelated.

An example of this would be to include the synonyms of your main keyword in the articles you publish.

For Quick ranking (like event blogging) the best option is 1 mainkeyword and 20 articles, by this method you will get quick response, other wise (20;20) you will get normal rankimg but it gives more stable ranking than the 1:20

First you have to understand - What are the keywords that you want to rank for?

Are these 20 main keywords you want to rank to?

or you want to rank for just only 1 keywords?

Even if you want to rank for just 1 keywords, you should find more related keywords (Long tail keywords) and write content around these keywords. Content should be based on semantic and should look relevant and worthy to the search engine as well as for the users.

So I would suggest more keywords and more number of quality articles. NOT just the SPINNED article.

However, it should be inserted the semantically related keywords into each article. Look in the direction of LSI keywords.
Also it's worth to create articles in 500 words or more size.

Actually, Search Engine Ranking mainly depends upon the keywords which we have chosen. So, no one can judge which one will be the prior high.

It's never a good idea to write 20 articles using a single keyword, you would be competing with yourself for the same keyword, that's called keyword cannibalization.

Just go with 20 main keywords and look into latent semantic indexing, which is using variations and synonyms of your keywords in a single article.
