I write a bunch of SEO articles for my site. Where can I post links to these articles to get traffic? Are there specific URLs I should try?

  • It depends on your topic, Facebook to get social traffic should be nice, but you can try pages that talk about similar topics.
  • I tried to link to a couple on here, but they said I was self-promoting. I feel dirty.

    • Well, post with links in WF are quite often flagged as spam or self-promotion. I've not done that myself too much, but even a link that perfectly fits the topic may get flagged.

For example, couple of days ago there was a new user who was searching for old threads and posting links that only tangentially touched the topics of those threads. This kind of behaviour is way too common here, and I'd guess that it's why even good links are frowned upon.

    • Yes, that would be a great idea if these were negative-SEO articles.

There is not much you can do that is more spammy than using article directories for links.
  • I think Submit your article in like-minded communities or share on Delicious and StumbleUpon as well as share on LinkedIn and LinkedIn Groups. These all processes are necessary for drive more traffic.

    • Hi,
To answer your question there are few things to mention.

You are asking you have written some SEO articles for your site.

Your question is not clear so it may be:
Whether If you have already posted the articles on your site and want to get backlinks by posting same articles on other places?
If this is the case then I would suggest not to copy and paste your articles on to other directories.

Here is why, after search engine updates and new changes in algorithms, it is not a good idea to add same/duplicate content on various places.

You can edit your articles yourself and then add to various article directories or submission sites.

You have asked for links, here are some of the article directories:
      EzineArticles.com
      GoArticles.com
      ArticleBase.com
      EzineMark.com

      There are various other directories.
  • You can promote your article on article submission sites, you can also share it on reddit, linkedin group, google plus and FB group. I hope you will get visitor from there

    • Share your articles in Linkedin groups. You can also share in other social media groups like G+, FB groups. Make sure you are sharing in that relevant community. This could earn more visibility.
  • You try these website. It cached within one day:

This site make sure your content is unique because they frown on duplicate content.
  • If you are writing good articles for your blog like must be interactive will give you best results.
  • You should post your article on web 2.0 sites like:
    wordpress.com
    webbly.com
    tumbler.com
    blog.com

    • That's just a waste of time. Instead of one site that needs backlinks, you're essentially multiplying the number of sites that need backlinks.
  • You can use different blogging websites to share your content knowledge through different platforms. Along with this, you can also integrate blog to your website.
  • If you have your own website, try being as active as possible on social media and on other blogs or forums in your own niche.
  • As per my experience social media marketing is the best place where we can promote our articles and content because on these profiles all users are real which is interested to read your content and article and you can get direct traffic on your articles.

That's still confusing coming from an SEO.

Do you know how to research webpages/sites to see If they have any SEO value/authority?

I'm not trying to be an ass but this is SEO 101 stuff.

  • Google 'internet marketing blogs' without quotation marks. Start calling the owners.

Hell, if your articles are good, I'll post one or two and let you link to your site from one of my marketing sites.

But your article has to be as good as the ones I've got there. And they're good, even if I say so myself.

  • I don't think he was saying it is everyone's job to figure it out for him, I think he was just asking if there were any suggestions anyone had. Now would be a good time to promote your site to him if this is what you do.

    • And this would be the reason I posted an explanation on why there are not a lot of helpful replies, and some words of encouragement.

Even if I had good suggestion I might not give them on a forum such as this. There's too many people to pester the poor site owner with crap offers.

If OP or someone else is looking for a list of easy targets there's always a recent topic with that kind of info. Those probably are not the sites you're looking for, tho.

That's what the link exchange forum is here for. If you feel that you must let OP know about your site, please just send him a PM.
  • You can use them for blogs as well as for popular article sites like articlesbase, ezine articles, etc. You can also submit them to PPT sharing sites like slideshare if they are accepting doc files.
  • First you create a blog page for your site and promote it. You can update your blog once in a week. Some of the article submission sites like stumbleupon, wordpress, blog.com, weebly, blogspot,newsvine.com, storify.com and also you can promote the content through your official linkedin, facebook pages also..

    • I know you aren't reading the thread, but just posting some generic and random stuff.

But as I said before the "web 2.0" sites are pointless, and mostly just a waste of time. WordPress, Weebly, and Blogger require you to set up a site and build it from the ground up. If you believe that the backlinks from your new blog sites have any juice you're sorely mistaken.

LinkedIn and Facebook may work for updating your existing followers, but the latter pretty much requires you to pay for any solid visibility unless your followers absolutely love you. They're worthless for backlinks.

Storify, Stumbleupon, Newsvine and others usually just give you nofollow links, and unless you promote the "stories" those are just going to vanish from sight.

Also, he's got a "blog page", that's not the issue.
