After my last input, I still did not get the answers I was receiving so here we go again.

I have a particular article I am working on wordpress. I am just playing around and experimenting.

In the posts section of admin page once logged in, I am seeing SEO TITLE, SEO DESCRIPTION, and SEO KEYWORD. They were all blank. Until I started putting in what the title said. Now they are all smooshed column to column so think of it as this message being smooshed and appearing like this.....

Th
in
k
Of
it
be
in
gs
mo
os
he
d
li
ke
th
is.

Basically 2 characters long in length and not enough space as in this message box. That is just one of the issues.

The option for meta description and Focus KW, nothing to be able to put in those, whatever they mean. Total newb at this whole thing. Best way I am geting the feel is by learning by doing and just playing around.

The article had 7 or so repeating keywords in it. What would you do next in my situation???

Do you have plugins installed apart from Akismet?

Are you using the default Wp theme?

I assume you are talking about posting an article, and having trouble with SEO optimization at the bottom of the page.

You might want to provide information
    * What SEO plugin you have installed.
    * What theme you are using.

Try to deactivate other plugin, and see if it is back to normal.
Delete the plugin that you are not using.
Delete themes that you are not using (keep the standard theme).

Some SEO Plugin Automatically Title from your post Title, other you have to put in yourself.
Same as meta description and keywords.

In the admin area, once you are on the post, Go to the top of the page and select screen options, once there, uncheck some of your selections

This is correct, when using SEO plugins such as All in one SEO Pack or SEO Yoast, it can make your admin panel look really sloppy. Unfortunately you will have to de-select the ones that this is happening on to help make things look less clunky.

dude...just concentrate on writing good articles. Your worried about SEO? Your worried about repeating keywords in an article???

DO you realize that companies are now recording our conversations through apps to figure out what to sell us?

The google search engine is very advanced my friend. Your not going to be able to keep up. Just work on providing value.

    Leave the SEO headache alone.

We are talking about somethint that is very intuitive. People get paid good money everyday to find ways to make it more human.

Just type your articles naturally and provide good information.

So your article list got borked. Yoast SEO tends to do that, and the solution is "screen options" that couple of users mentioned above.

Focus Keyword is just a helper tool that allows you to see if you've mentioned your main keyword in the title and article content. It doesn't affect anything on the site. That would be the first column that I remove from the article list. I can't say if the tool is useful for you and your workflow, but for me it isn't.

Meta Keywords are useless unless you're targeting China or Russia. I would not bother with them.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
