If you are searching for a particular product that may only have 30 searches a day according to wordtracker how do you know that there are not 30 other IM out there searching for the same product and thus showing inaccurate demand?

Any thoughts?

    Hi cms418,

You have no way of knowing that. The fact is a lot of traffic comes from website owners checking their own rankings.

As a rule of thumb, the lower the number the less reliable it is as stat.

Rule no. 1. Do not use single keyword research tool at all. Test it with more tools out there. You'll be surprised of the results.

My eyes were opened when I started using additional keyword research tools. I really like the Google Adwords Keyword tool. It tells you numbers of searches, it brings up keywords that WordTracker was missing the boat on, I feel the results are more honest (keep in mind the numbers they show does not include MSN, Yahoo, and other smaller search engines), and I find it easier to use. Wordtracker misses a lot of keywords that would be great niche possibilities.
