What are the uses of promoting articles?

I have seen guys who wish to promote their articles. Most prefer to keep their articles on TOP # 3 for keyword search, especiall articles on EZA. Is there any benefits than SEO + Direct marketing, by doing this?

    No. Not that I know. You want to be on top to get the targeted, converting traffic from your chosen keyword. For SEO alone it is not important if you are on top or not. As long as your article has lots of backlinks and PR.

      Think you covered all bases there!

      The whole advantage of having your articles or sites or whatever at the top of google with the use of backlinks and seo friendly content is simply to get the free traffic from people searching on google, which then are really highly targetted users who should convert.
