Penalized for linking relevant owned sites?

Three months ago i started a couple of microniches and they were ranking great about page 2 without so much linkbuilding

The content has been written by myself and it's nice.

Then i've got another two sites of the same niche with more than one year old, and i did and happened this:

Microniche A got a blogroll link only in the home of Old Site A, 10 days later a serious drop in positions, i've already removed the link and two weeks later nothing changes...

Microniche B got a link in a old post in Site B, one month later a serious drop in positions... i removed the link a couple of weeks ago and still no recovering ranking.

Any thoughts or experiences? should i wait or buy another domain?

Kind regards!

  • I highly doubt it has anything to do with this, especially with one or two low quality blogroll links.

My guess is you lost ranking by losing another (or a few) important links or even the links that were linking to your site loss value themselves. That or you've got another issue at hand like content related issues.

    • sweezeter thanks for the reply!, i think i will wait some more weeks and see what happens, at least i will learn what happened or be sure if i need to create another domain, i will work on other websites at the moment

      Thanks!

  • Ive been thinking deep taking a shower and i think is about overoptimization for sure... i will ad more articles with keywords related but not specifically around the ones i want to rank, and i will do more Nofollow links without anchor in highly relevant topics, i was careful with that, but maybe a fresh start website, with little content and some anchors hurt them.

    thank for everyone!!
