  • PBN or Private blog network is common in this industry and everybody knows that as well as it is not harmful in terms of SEO. Don't rely on those you said "powerful backlinks" because even you or others can produce this kind of quality links. But it will take great content that is interesting and engaging to your audience, this will be your best medium to reach your users.

    • I completely disagree. Sorry but Private Blog Networks are not harmful until Google catches you. The positives of a PBN are not worth the penalty that comes if you get caught. So please unless you are willing to lose everything do not use them. They are a big risk.
    • I don't care about Google and its penalty, what's most important to me is to have a large network of unique and interesting content that will reach my targeted audience and will be benefited as well as shared in their networks.

  • When you create back link on PBN you have to take care of following things.

    First write informative post.
Give link in last or 2nd last paragraph
    Don't write promotional content
First write 2 to 3 post then 4 post give link to your website

This way it benefit a lot in term of SEO.

  • Yes, to hide your backlink is black hat technique for website promotion.

    • To hide your backlink, just ban bots other than search engine using their IP address or using their useragent info ex:

      majesticseo bot useragent:
      UA: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MJ12bot/v1.3.3; Majestic-12 : DSearch : MJ12bot)

you can code .htaccess file to stop such bots. read this:

  • Hi,thanks for your reply.

Question was: How to stop spyders to collect your links, just to hide your powerfull links from competition.

And i asked, can that be harmful for seo?

    • The first question was answered by Sewarrior.

I can't see how blocking 3rd party spiders would affect your Google visibility.
    • Once Google can crawl your site, your rankings wont be affected.
  • If the PBN is itself providing valuable content, Google will have trouble detecting it.
