how many keyword to target in a niche website?

Hey guys,

I just want your opinions....

How many keyword should you target in a niche website?

Think low competition keywords and a niche website. Your goal is to rank first only!

How would you go about deciding " I'm going to target let's say 5 keyword phrases?"

Would you stick to a certain amount of keywords for the entire website or target as many low competition keyword related to that niche as possible?

The reason I ask is that....wouldn't ranking high for fewer low competition keywords on a niche websites be more potentially successful than ranking for as many low competition keywords as possible due to website keyword density?

    It especially depends how many keywords you've found successfully that're easy to rank. If we check out happy websites ANCHOR texts in SEMRush, we can see that there's no limit at all.

    First of all, you should not target more then 2 really great keywords(good SV and low competition) at first. I made the mistake of targeting 8 keywords at first and the result was a disaster. I do not know about your competency with SEO, but if you are a newbie- go for just 2 keywords. When you achieve top ranks for them, then go for more keywords. That's what i did for my later projects and found it to be the right approach. Hope it helps.

    It's depends on you. You need 2-3 month's to rank in google for each keyword.
