I have been seeing this for a lot time that 95% there is no .net in the search results or first page. I am planning to open a site which has only .net extension available.

Does .Net has less SEO exposure or it is weak?

Should I purchase .net extensions?

I don't think that Google has a special "treatment" if you will, for non .com TLDs. I have seen plenty of .net domains on first page. The reason you see mostly .com is because most people always buy .com domains. I am actually going to buy a completely different TLD soon and will rank it first on Google for sure.

Google doesn't care what TLD you use.

.net domains are less desirable than they once were as the proliferation of alternatives to .com has exploded. It is no longer the "natural" 2nd choice.

But, I don't think Google cares about that. Content, content, content. I think the lack of them in the rankings is more a reflection of their reduced marketability, not ranking ability.

I don't think any specialty about .com or .net . If you website has quality content and optimize your website properly then doesn't matter what is your website extension. You can buy it without any hesitation.
