Hello Warriors,

This question might be asked many times on this forum and may be on other forums, but still I want to know that what are the Page Rank factors now in 2015 when a lot of things in the SEO world has been changed.

I want to know whether it's the number of quality links or something else? Does freshness and how frequently the content is posted on your site, provide any boost in the Page Rank?

I want to know your thoughts

Page rank is no longer relevant to the marketer. Google still has an internally updated record of Page Rank, however it is no longer being updated for the general public.

So..................what google uses like a mad man for ranking, is
not relevant to the marketer? Yup, because "marketers" are
not what google wants. I say good riddance to those people.

Why is PageRank important in the general sense? Because google
relies heavily (still) on backlinks. And PR is all about backlinks.

Public pagerank was last updated in 2013.

Nothing has really changed from what's already known, links from authority pages create strong backlinks. Look at the backlink profile for the exact URL on your backlink page. Authority trickles down...

So, you mean the Domain Authority and Page Authority are the real metrics I should look for?

The question was based on my observation, I didn't create much backlinks, instead I kept on publishing the new blog posts and I noticed this activity increased the Page Rank from 1 to 2. This was done on client's site back in 2013. I left SEO since then and focused more on web development.

Pick your poison. I like Majestic's metrics, but their topical trust flow is mostly just inaccurate fluff. Moz's metrics have the reputation of being simplistic, and easy to manipulate.

In my opinion it's usually better to look at the actual link profile than blindly rely on an algorithmic score that may or may not be accurate.

Pagerank is the part of Google algorithm that deals with backlinks.

I'm not sure how you could reliably reach such a conclusion in any case, but there's an easy explanation for the phenomenon. Someone else linked back to you. That's one reason why you were posting that content, wasn't it?

May be you are right, there are too many misconceptions in this field and that always insists me to go back and deal with my code stuff better. Is their any authentic Free or Premium course which can lead me to the better direction? I'm not fan of reading much text, any Good video tutorials please? Going deeper into nettiapina comment, I think you need to use each metric as a guide to know if a page has authority or not, PR is still used just it is not public, so what you need to do is to study the other metrics availabe (MOZ and MAjestic) and evaluate the quality of an URL with them.

Well, some things have changed, but don't worry, you'll be able to keep up. Most important Google update lately was 'forcing' everyone to make their websites mobile friendly. But since you have been building websites for the last couple of years, I'm sure you know what a responsive design means!
Check out Moz to see the latest updates &changes, they literally keep a list.

Despite what others will tell you, not much has really changed. What has changed is Google's ability to enforce what they want in the SERPs. Links still trump everything for SEO. Google is just getting better at telling the difference between spam links and good links.

No, that's a list of ranking factors (with some dubious or "speculative" ones included). Pagerank is the factor that's determined by backlinks, but Google has said that there are hundreds of ranking factors that determine the search engine positions.

It means page rank is only depend on quality backlinks, then what is the ranking factor for Google.

Nobody outside Google knows all their ranking factors. There's "complete lists" floating in the blogs, but they're just speculation. Obviously backlinks and pagerank are an important signal about the popularity of a page and site.

Just posting content doesn't really work that well unless your site already has a decent link profile. You need to advertise your material and get it out to the people who might link to it. Some use social media, some try to contact bloggers and other industry figures, some use email outreach.

That is why I do directory submissions early on in the SEO campaign so when I add new content you can be sure there is already a very strong link profile. This leads to new content being indexed very quickly.

^^^ This! AND creating backlinks to authority websites.

The one who has good PR, sustains.

Treat your website like a child, making it meet to similar children in the block will only help to improve it's communication skills plus it will learn from them a lot. This includes good and bad, both.

The question that should be asked is what factors increase domain authority and page authority. So far I have seen that adding new content regularly does increase authority.

    Page rank depends on
    Number of quality backlinks
    Content on your site

PageRank does not depend on a single one of those things.

    • As mentioned by other warriors in the previous comments you've to increase the DA (Domain Authority) and PA (Page Authority). And to increase these you've to create high quality content that can create links itself. See instead of going here and there for creating links just put a research for creating high quality content, put some big folks from your industry in the article and let them know they're featured at your blog. Repeat it and see the changes.

First of all Page Rank is dead now, last updated of Page rank rolled in 2013.

But if you want to increase your Page Rank you have to create high PR dofollow links, that will provide you link juice and this number of link juice will increase your Page Rank.

Google Page Rank is working a very simple formula.

    PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + ... + PR(tn)/C(tn))
