Hello all, I know the basics (links, content, keywords), but I'm a noob when it comes to SEO and I am looking to learn... So why not start?

A couple of things I'd like to understand are:
1. Where do I begin? I watched a few Lynda videos, but that's not hardcore enough.
2. How does link building actually work? What does one begin working with it?
3. What do you work with to mine keywords?
4. What does SEO for YOAST do for you?

What other factors affect your organic search results?

I'll appreciate any source of information as I am thirsty for knowledge!
Thank you
S

If you would like a little entertainment along with your quest for knowledge, I'd recommend you Google the name "Jay Wessman". You can also do a search for him on Youtube as well. He's a hoot to listen to. He's a young man from Australia who offers his knowledgeable insight into finding low competition keywords, building niche sites, driving traffic to your site and ranking and monetizing your site.

    1. Find someone who has accomplished what you want to do? Are you trying to do affiliate marketing, email marketing, what? Try to learn from this person.
    2. It's works by you build dofollow links on other websites, then Google sees the links eventually and moves your website up the SERPs. I begin many link building campaigns with some comments on relevant blogs and then send some links to the site on my link network.
    3. I just use Google keyword planner or SEMrush to mine keywords.
    4. I don't use SEO for Yoast
