Don't you think this method can rank better in Google

Yes, I am talking about a method that I applied to rank one of my website for a highly competitive keyword.

I followed the below steps:
1) I searched for the keywords that had very high competition in Google adwords keyword planner.
2) Added them to meta description and keywords.
3) Indexed website internal URLs in Google.
4) Created 100 good back links 5 per day for 20 days
5) I used a Google search bot (traffic bot ), that bot was using back connect proxies and was searching my site in Google and was increasing CTR and I reached to first page #5 from #135 in 20 good days. And it was just because of CTR I guess.

This method worked for me once, I am trying it again still it is helping my keywords to go up #216 gone to #150 without any link building in three days.

If you know anything about it , it you have tried this too, is it a good method to rank a website better or is it harmful in anyway or will I be penalized any thing if you can help with.

    5) I used a Google search bot
    What does this mean exactly?

Here, it means a traffic bot that searches for your site in Google and then click over it.

That means absolutely nothing. Can you be any more obtuse?

Maybe you can show us all how you click a a google bot EXACTLY.

I disagree with just about everything the OP posts in this forum including this thread, but you are the one being obtuse here. The search bot does exactly what he says it does.

It goes to the Google search bar. It searches for the term you give to it.Then it clicks on the URL you told it to. That's it.

Are you talking about crawling pages? perhaps he simply hacked to death the English language because what he wrote really wasn't making sense.

He's probably talking about this ---> "Google Search Bot v3.5" It's software that costs $49 from SEOClerks. But I thought "traffic" did not rank a site.

No we are not talking about crawling pages. It has nothing to do with English. You are just not comprehending it.

What the bot does is it emulates a person going to the Google Search bar in their browser, entering in the query that you choose, and then in the Google search results clicking on the URL you have told it to.

It is to make it look like people are searching for a term and clicking on your result.

Right, because there's no such thing as Google's main crawler called "Googlebot", right?

                https://support.google.com/webmaster.../1061943?hl=en

"Crawler" is a generic term for any program (such as a robot or spider) used to automatically discover and scan websites by following links from one webpage to another. Google's main crawler is called Googlebot.

Now, you are talking like a Google man who is not aware about or who don't believes in research and logic other than definitions. I have not written "The Google bot" but I was talking about the Google search bot.
You thought I am talking about crawler or spiders but I was talking about a traffic bot.

I know what Googlebot is. This has nothing to do with Googlebot or crawling pages.

I'm sorry you are not comprehending what we are talking about. Maybe you should just sit this one out.

So its ranking now - fine. But the question is, how long.

These days, you can rank pretty much anything for a few weeks (or months) and then there comes a time when google takes an action

Random traffic from someplace doesn't rank anything. In this case the traffic is coming from the search, so at least Google tracks every click.

Your method is fairly obvious and direct form of manipulation, and it's something that affects Google's product. It's likely that Google has had checks and balances in place for a long time. I'm not sure if they ban anyone for this, but I've heard that it's not been effective any more.

Yes, not exactly about this bot but a bot that is similar to it, that uses back connect proxies.

You are correct. I am talking about a bot that will open Google.com in a internal browser, and will pretend that user is browsing from android phone, blackberry, mac, windows 7, windows 8.1 etc. and he is using browsers like mozilla, opera, internet explorer, safari and many more.
So, it appears in webmaster tools as natural searches and natural clicks.

That is what ranked your site.

Google isn't dumb, how the heck would you get good CTR being #135, how the heck would you get ANY CTR at all at that position. I have noticed my CTR and there is HUGE difference in CTR for #1 and anything below #1. You don't even exist if you are not page 1st and for some queries its true if you aren't in the top 3 positions.

If you're running this bot on the domain in your WF forum sig. don't you think that's a problem?

Your domain has in the HTML source code:
      • Google Fonts
      • Google Analytics
      • Google Webmaster Tools (verified)
      • hxxps://googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.2/jquery.min.js
      • hxxps://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js

Now combine all that Google tracking with clicks on your page/link in Google SERPs where the proxy traffic lands on the page & does nothing, no page scrolling, no internal link clicks, no cursor movement, nothing.

What if, the bot will have a feature of browsing site slowly as scrape box does, and it will be having a function to click internal URLs randomly.

And you're pointing those clicks to a site you're trying to "optimize". Google should be able to see the unnatural traffic pattern even without all the tools Yukon listed. I'm not sure if you're pulling our leg, or really saying this as some sort of an argument.

Do you really think google cant detect that stuff. I mean really? I bet your proxies are shown as a know proxy when you search the ip address. Yes this is a good strategy, but not the way your implementing it. ESPECIALLY if you expect it to be natural for someone on the 10+ page getting tons of clicks.

This is the reason why Google sometimes stops me from using their search engine. Because some idiot is using a bot using my IP to try to mimic a human searching.

Google knows what you are doing.

They even say this is the reason why I am being stopped from using their search engine...that certain scripts are searching a term in their engine over and over again.

Many times. I have to reset my IP or wait a few hours. I thought it was ridiculous but now it makes perfect sense. These temporary bans have only been happening recently. Since word got out that "crowd sourcing" or whatever they call it, was a way to game Google. LMAO.

No, Google is well aware of such tactics by now. Idiots like the OP are abusing the Google search and making it harder for legit users. And, it won't be long before such methods cease to work and may even backfire....

Same here. The kind of shared proxies I have used for SERP checking are just instantly banned from Google. Indeed makes sense if this thing is popular among the cool kids.

And yeah, currently doing the obvious move to private proxies.

It worked for me, so I thought I should ask if someone else tried this. But, yes it can be risky and ranking will be temporary as well.

Legit? What's that? Who is legit today in Internet Marketing? Are you saying that you haven't ever used a proxy for SEO purpose?
If yes, that will be a good reason for the ban of main IP. Well, if you will go according to Google only ad promotions through adwords are the best way of SEM . As they are simply making money out of it. Also, creating a couple of links in SEO will do nothing for highly competitive keywords, so I was trying to discuss a trick I tried and that worked.

Maybe you won't believe me, but I quit building links a long time ago. And these IP bans from Google are happening on my mobile phone browser, because my ISP/mobile network provider uses those common IPs that frequently get spammed by spammers (like you).

              Surprised?

Not sure how many users have the same IP as me (if any), but I was able to get white pages by just jumping back and forth in the SERPs with a mobile phone. Perhaps Google is becoming increasingly trigger happy with SERP trackers and all sorts of wannabe hackers.

It's not a huge inconvenience for an average user, because you can just hit the back button or reload the page.

No, hitting the back button/reloading page doesn't do it. And that includes opening and closing the Google search.

At least nowadays, Google provides a captcha form. Ordinary users would be totally bewildered and probably angry. It's like one single person causing a traffic jam on a highway for their own selfish reasons.

What do you consider highly competitive? How much traffic does the SERP you targeted now generate to your site?

You might consider a phrase that has no traffic or competition competitive and have targeted an easy SERP with no traffic which you got because it was easy.

Number 2 is a waste of time.

Number 3 waste of time. Assume you submitted a sitemap or similar.

Number 4 has SEO value, highly unlikely to result in a significant boost in just 20 days.

Number 5, I've tested this independent of other factors (as best as you can) and in the short term (28 days test) I didn't see any significant improvement. Note: been a couple of years since the tests, so 2+ years ago didn't appear to help.

BTW a SERP moving from 216 to 150 tells you nothing, this could be normal movement.
