Well. I don't think you need original content when you are trying to rank your Facebook page.. But I would advice you to stay ONLY on your niche, post USEFUL content.. You probably get other people link to you!

If you are talking about posting links to useful content which you do not own but resonate with your audience then by all means, go ahead. However if you are talking about taking unoriginal images from somewhere else, be careful of copyright issues.
A previous client of mine used to have an incredibly active Facebook page by posting a lot of images from other sources. It all went away after one night, when Facebook locked their account because of copyright infringement.

it won't work and both Facebook and Google would penalized you for plagiarism

That would not be an advisable thing to do. You should write an original content. Non-original content means one thing - penalty for plagiarism. It would hurt you more than help you.

No No No. Make Sure its useful, but unique isnt going to get you penalized. The key here since its a facebook page isn't that the content is unique, its that your getting your content from a smaller source(small little blog, not a big news website). You can easily outrank with the same content if its on a more powerful domain.

Facebook is all about non-original content. Wether or not you're getting away with it is hard to say. As Jenny pointed above sometimes they're enforcing copyrights, but they're not consistent.

That's not going to rank it in Google, though. Perhaps get a bunch of backlinks (not from Facebook - real backlinks), and have a page title that matches the search you're trying to hit. Occasional on-topic post will not hurt.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
