Is there a reason not to use Google Webmaster Tools?

What happens when I activate this in Analytics?

  • Why would there be one? You can safely use the webmaster tools, or you can have your account and never check your stats, ever, no one from Google will care.
  • I didn't find out any reason why not to use google webmaster tools. But I strongly recommended to use google webmaster.
  • Maybe I am just always a bit sceptic in nature. I have gotten all the admin rights for the company I work for and I just want to mess things up by adding a tool that messes things up or I am not sure how to use.
  • The only potential issue is if you add a load of sites that you are doing something against Google guidelines with, if one site gets a manual visit, then they *might* use webmaster tools to find your other sites.
  • No, there is no reason to not use GWT. This is the thing which you should start using initially when your website become live. Submitting website in GWT will help in checking website crawlin wrrors, malware issues, url , sitemap and many other information.

    • The only reason to not use GWT is to avoid having information about your website performance and health in search results.

In my opinion, for all marketing/seo specialists and webmasters having GWT account activated is a must.

When you activate GWT in Google Analytics, you will be able to access GWT data from your GA account and vice versa, nothing else will happen.

  • When you merge the webmaster account with analytic account, you can see search queries from analytics account.
