    Hi truebluefisho,

Can't answer your question really, but as a side note,
you seem to have some other good positions.

I guess if your address is a boat ramp it is hard to compete, but I found a number one and two position for; (and your maps entry)

    true blue fishing charters

    I do not see you for the actual address you have used on your site;

    main beach fishing charters

Is there a street number that you can use?

I wonder do you have that as a keyword in your Google Maps entry in any case?

    Must be worth a try.

I searched both from Australia, and using a direct Google.com address.
Those results seem similar, around position 7 or 8 for either.

    gold coast fishing charters

Reversing it comes up with much the same thing, as does placing it in exclamation marks.

    fishing charters gold coast

The biggest difference I found was when you click on the Fishing charters near main beach box they have there at the top, several stand out as they have reviews and star ratings.

I would be working on those reviews I guess.

I see you, and everyone else is going for Gold Coast Fishing Charters by putting it as a headline.

With that kind of competition I guess you have done well anyway.

    cheers, Mal.

Thanks for reply and suggestions, there is no street number, its a public jetty where I pick my passengers up, I take booking from my home office and I don't want my home address on google for obvious reasons

Yes, use a tracker to determine where your site is really ranked. It can be your cookies etc, it happens to everyone.

There is no way to get a true google ranking in your context.

Everyone will get different, personalized results. People in
Nebraska want something else than those searching in
the UK. People searching in the morning will get different
results than in the evening. After a major news event,
everyone will get different results. No way out it. Google
        is not stupid.

It would be crazy to even try and get a no cookie, no cache,
no login, no location, no time, no..well, no nothing.

The result would be meaningless as people are humans that
search using any and all of that. You certainly would not even
want to target such a nonexistent searcher.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

I'd say you should be happy you're on Google's first page. I don't know why you get different results, but as long as you stay on the first page, don't worry too much about it.

Definitely use a tracker but before you apply the tracker delete all of your previous cookies and then apply the tracker then refresh the search and it will give you your exact ranking on Google.
