I'm as far from an SEO pro as you can get, but I wanted to say that I like your theme. What's the name of it?

One link isn't usually considered spam, but you can replace http with hxxp to be on the safe side. That way you don't get a direct link.

The color theme is not easy on eyes. The red borders do not look good. Some of the text lines are also a bit too long to read comfortably.

The HTML generator does pretty poor code. The text is there, but there's huge amount of extra stuff in the document. Certainly not ideal from SEO perspective.

There's a couple of pages without h1 tags. Your own meta descriptions don't look good, but it might be a good idea to leave them out like you've done on most pages.

Front page is pretty heavy at over 3MB. Consider using smaller images to get it down. You're requesting 20 Google Web Fonts on some pages, and there's no way you're using that many. Also, you should usually only use 2-3 fonts from the design perspective.

I'm sure you're aware of this, but not that many backlinks. Get them.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

To add another point .. I saw horizontal scroll bar try to avoid it as it is not a great user experience. Overall you need to work on user experience and overall site looks 80's (don't take it personal).

    Hello there!

Here's the thing if I may. SEO is really optimizing your visibility via search engines. There are two things to remember: you have to have a well developed website which incorporates "responsive design and functionally coded". Another you'll need to nurture (it'll take time of course) your efforts with maybe analytics.

Here are a few to think about:

    1. Great look-and-feel with consistent colors so on
    2. A lot of contents - that's good for SEO
    3. You lack "keywords" usually on <meta> tags
    4. Menu system is too much on the right side --- your user will get confused -- what's the use of a great SEO if you users/prospects live because of the UI
    5. Javascripts are all over the place.
    6. Great responsive website.

SEO takes a while to improve... I see you linked your Facebook or something there. Things to improve your SEO:

    1. Have you submitted sitemaps to Google and other search engines?
    2. Add social networks pages on your website
    3. Add meta tags for keywords. Each pages should have this. I heard this is not relevant any longer, but I'd add it anyway.
    4. You do have Analytics -- use that and measure your efforts.

I'm pretty sure that it's not year 2008, and that he's not trying to target Baidu or Yandex.

If you know it's not relevant, why make such a comment? Unnecessary busywork is not the answer to any question.

These do not help with rankings. Social network links on your own site may actually hurt. If you're not careful you're directing your link juice to Facebook.

You really need to work on layout of website, design is not eye-catching,for me.
    Where is the contact detail?
    What about reviews page?
Missing canonical tag, found multiple urls of same page - www.domain.com/ and www.domain.com/home-1.html

You definitely need to fix this. There are multiple URLs for each page of your site. Pick the WWW or non-WWW version and redirect the other one.

    Right now
    http://www.bestknifereviews .com/home-1.html
    http://www.bestknifereviews .com/
    http://bestknifereviews .com/home-1.html
    http://bestknifereviews .com/

all lead to the same place. Pick one.

(Ignore the spaces obviously. I had to add those so it did not pick them up as links.

You need to edit your .htaccess file. Just Google how to redirect WWW to non-WWW version or vice versa.

It is not too hard, but keep a backup copy of your .htaccess file in case you screw something up. You can revert back right away. Mistakes in the .htaccess file can cause your whole site to go unresponsive.

You will need FTP access to edit the .htaccess file.

GoDaddy support might actually help you with it. I don't know. I never use them for hosting.

There is no option to modify an .htaccess file with Website Builder since it does not have server access.
          lance -
          so im screwed?
          Frankie -
You would not be able to make the change you are requesting except on a site built and present on Web Hosting. Website Builder does not have this ability.
          lance -
google says i have duplicat content because of this
          lance -
well can web hosting fix this for me?
          Frankie -
Web hosting would have the ability to add an .htaccess file yes. However, you would need to rebuild the website since the content in Website Builder is not exportable outside of Website Builder. Any remaining time on the Website Builder would be able to be credited for use towards the purchase of Web Hosting once cancelled if you choose to go this route.
          lance -
if i chose web hosting that would mean i write all my own code to build the site?
          Frankie -
You would either write the code if you are familiar with doing so or you could use a program to design the website. There are other free, template based programs such as WordPress which would allow this as well.
          Frankie -
That you could install on the hosting.
          lance -
ok i need to marinate on this for a bit. my other account i have with you is ghostpeppers.org and its on website builder as well. am i going to have the same problem?
          Frankie -
Yes. If you are planning to implement an .htaccess file.
          lance -
i just want everything to redirect to www.
          Frankie -
          I understand.

    - If you can make your layout more responsive it would help with that horizontal bar that appears.
    - the comment box doesn't match the website colours, it's a bit off, try putting something else like disqus comment system.

    hope it helps

    Hallo!

I think you could organize better the pages (i.g. separate knife features/description from knife brands)

I suggest you to change background color: pure black is very strong, you can use anthracite and improve the visual effect!

Website Builder is a tool built for novice users. Because of this, many advanced tools are not available such as how the website will appear in search engines. I can understand your frustration. The solution would be to move to Web Hosting if this is a crucial item to address.
    lance -
    can you get FTP access
    Frankie -
Website Builder does not have FTP access.
    lance -
how do i save everything ive done?
    Frankie -
You would not be able to export the content of Website Builder. You could leave the Website Builder up in tandem with the hosting account to copy/paste text and images into a new site you are designing.
    lance -
let me guess if i move to hosting your gonna charge me more money
    Frankie -
You would need to pay for hosting, correct. As mentioned earlier, any remaining time on the Website Builder can be credited to the account once cancelled. If you choose to cancel the Website Builder prior to purchasing hosting, the credit can also be applied towards that purchase.
    lance -
    how much is hosting
    Frankie -
    $41.88/yr for Economy Hosting.
    Frankie -
    For the first year.
    lance -
what if i want a full refund with both accounts
    lance -
    and go with another company
    Frankie -
You would most likely need to purchase a domain transfer through the other company to move the domain name since domains need to be in an active status to be transferred between registrars. We would review both accounts for refund eligibility of the products cancelled. Annual products cancelled after 45 days of purchase would only be able to be issued In-Store Credit.
    lance -
lmao figures... im sorry you have to work for these crooks

No doubt you're not getting any links to stick on your other forum thread, the site doesn't serve any purpose.

What's the deal with every single internal link pointing to a Coming Soon page? Horrible idea. You best hope you don't get a manual review from Adsense.

Put yourself in a forum webmasters shoes, there's no reason to allow a link pointing to your site.
