Hello,

I and few of my known are facing a problem.

When we search in google [ "abc.com" ] results comes very less say around 14~80 links
but when we search like [ site:abc.com ] results comes all index pages in the google.

So what can be the reason for the same ? Any suggestion ?

Thanks

You are searching for 2 different things, so of course you are going to get 2 different results.

The 'site:' search operator is returning indexed pages. That's what it does.

Searching for 'abc.com' is a normal search.

If you are looking for links, you would want to use the 'link:' search operator, but Google will barely show any links with that command.

You will find more by using a 3rd party database or using Webmaster Tools.

Means when i search with inverted comma there were 1100 results for the domain day before yesterday.
and when i did the same today it was having only 86 results. so this made me concern that what happen.

I don't know. I would not worry about it too much. Nobody searches for things with quotes anyhow.

You might have just included the WWW in one of the searches and got different results or something like that. Might have been personalized results.

Unless you saw a giant drop in traffic, I would not lose any sleep over it.
