Age of domain a big factor?

Hey Guys,

I am doing a big seo push this week. Trying to optimise 100 pages across 10 domains and 10 different industries.

I had planned on registering the domains new. Will this be a big factor against me?

The 100 keywords I have chosen are all pretty low competion but has competition who have old domains and a few hundred targeted backlinks.

    If you own aged domains then use them. It is a factor, but one of many. If you don't own aged domains, don't let it stop you.

    I can buy aged domains if its worth it, but it puts my setup costs up. Don't want to do it unless I'm definately getting a boost for it.

    Has anyone done an experiment to test this theory? Like setup 2 domains on different ip's and optimise them for same keyword but have one domain newer than the other.

    Age DOES matter. But I've seen just too many NEW websites toppling the ones that have been there for ages. This shows that while age matters, providing good and contents, with backlinks, matter greatly.

    i suggest you to buy and use old domain, beacause for old domain is good for search engines like google, yahoo and msn.

    I think for a while the age of a domain can definitely give a bonus or hinder you. But for the big picture, even if it puts you behind for a year or whatever, I would suggest getting the domains names that you want. As time goes on your disadvantage on age will be less and less.

    Now for a black hat type site you might prefer the aged domain.

    Age of a domain affects. Google treat it as a senior person. You will get top priority if your domain is old.
