can we block some of the images in mobile website?

I have website it has a heavy loading Images on the Landing page of website in desktop view.

I implement all the responsive website design function on the website. But due to heavy load images, it can't properly load in Mobile and it's create user experience problem in mobile

So can we block some of the images in mobile website , is it hurt our SEO in future?
