Lost Backlink, will it effect my ranking .

I have made backlink from wikipedia but after few days wikipedia has removed it .
So losing backlink will it effect site ranking ?

      Ok but i have checked on websmaster tools and there wikipidia is mentioned under backlinks .So it means i have got backlink from wikipedia and now its lost as link is removed .

    If the mentioned page (the one your link sits on) got re-crawled and Google "sees" it then it counts, yes.

    However, Wikipedia links are nofollow by default so there is very little direct impact on rankings. They can pass tremendous authority tho.

    Additionally, once link is counted by Google it can take up to several weeks for Google to start ignoring it. So that link will count for time even if it's dead now.

      You're contradicting yourself. What do you think this "authority" is made of?

      Authority in this context comes from the link juice that the links either pass or don't pass. It's not some mystical force that builds up from thin air.

    As others have said, it doesn't sound like the link was up for very long, so it may not have even been long enough for Google to update its algorithm with that link in mind. There are plenty of other wiki sites out there though, I'd try and get some coming in from those as well!
