  • It increase search engine impressions and help them to find out relevant contents.
  • It can help visitor to find your site in an easy way.
  • I can't decide if this is an attempt at humor, or a serious question. I could believe that this particular user doesn't even realize that every piece of HTML is a tag, but it seems unfair to assume that anyone is that clueless.
  • Which tag? You need to be a lot more specific than that.
  • If you are focusing only on Google. Its a waste of time. But Search engines like bing, yahoo still considering tags for its SERP. So my suggestion is better use tags either your website get placed or not.

    Meta tag we can put for the search queries but now a days no one is using meta tag.
  • Ofcourse , tag is always is important for get the keyword promotions .
  • What's your idea? What type of a tag? A keyword tag, a description (meta tags)? Alt tags for images? Title for links? The word TAG is a COMMON SEO word!

  • We are going all aroung the houses here, because nobody can understand exactly what you mean, even post 11 fails to clear it up, but I'll have a stab and take it you mean meta keyword tags in the head code like this:

    <head>
    <meta name="keywords" content="cats,dogs,rabbits,donkeys,hamsters">

    You can put them in if you want but they will not help your SEO one little bit, Google does not use meta keywords as a ranking factor.

    If, one the other hand you mean keyword tags used for fast user navigation on any page of a website, either straight links or a jumble of links (called a tag cloud) then that will completely depend on the way you set up the navigation from the start.

    If you siloed your site without them, then adding tags will mess up the silos.
    Don't add them just for the sake of it... if in doubt, leave them out.
    Many sites use keyword tags because owners can stuff them with keywords and think it will help their on-page SEO, they have no understanding of how, why, when or where tags should be used.
    Tag pages in Wordpress will also create lots of useless pages unless something is done about them, i.e. turning them into useful pages in their own right by adding content, or giving them a noindex tag.

  • Of course! Tags or Keywords are important. Specially when someone searches same niche as you or entered keywords which you have on your site, search engine can see you as one of the related website they possibly needed.
