Competition / Giveaway for Bloggers Ideas?

Hi Warriors,

We are looking for run a competition/ giveaway for bloggers and want to learn from all of you about your experiences and ideas?

Here is the case.

We have a eCommerce website with more than 100 products valued from $500 to $2000. We are looking to generate more links to the different sections of the website and awareness about the brand. We want to run competition for bloggers only, so that we can get them to post about our products.

Here are some questions:

  • Do you know about any such competition ran successfully in past? Can you provide links?
  • How to motivate bloggers to provide a link to the website?
  • How to promote competition to bloggers? PR, Blogs, Social, etc?
  • What are the SEO risks to the website if we gain links like this?

    First of all if you have no experience in running a competition then why are you running. Get someone who have previous experience. And the second question is that why bloggers are going to participate your competition. Are you having any prizes for the winners? Yeah, this kind of things have been successful in the past but the case back then was that the writers were independent about their writing which in your case in not as you telling them to write about your products.
    Gaining links to your site is not an easy thing. You have to be great content wise in order to get link back to you.
    And at last yeah you can promote your competition through social media, other blogs or your niche forums.
