Say you start with no way to pay for big advertising, you have 0 ad budget. You want traffic to your site and your using adsense. Now, say you were to sign up to link exchanges and say.. auto surfs.

IS your adsense doomed to be flagged by google and account slapped? Or are such methods ok?

And ...

How, other than article work, could a person without an ad budget get enough visitors to said sites to make money via adsence & affiliate products without getting in trouble.

I have a budget by the way. My LE does well for me. But I am trying to learn some adsense tactics from the ground up.

It's possible through SEO. You need organic (free) traffic if you are to make money through Adsense.

I may be wrong but I don't think you are able to direct PPC ads at pages with Adsense on them

Content is going to get you free traffic.

Post comments on other people's blogs will too.

Don't use autosurfs etc - you may get banned.

Organic traffic is the best with adsense. Plus once you build it up it's a low maintenance traffic source.

I did it the old fashion way........ I earned it.
I just did a lot of Backlinking and things like Ezine Articles and Squidoo Lenses that are free. It took time but I have built up Organic traffic and now I have a very nice budget to work with !!

    Hi journeyforself,

Based on your post it sounds as if you have not read the TOS and program policies of AdSense, using traffic exchange programs are expressly and explicitly prohibited. The account won't be just flagged and slapped, you will be banned for life and have all you earnings withheld.

Traffic exchange programs are notorious for their mostly fake traffic.

Money is just an exchange vehicle for labor. If you have more time than money then you can apply your labor towards promotional activity, or offer to do work for others, get paid and apply the funds to your marketing.

Fake traffic schemes will ultimately fail for AdSense publishers, Advertisers track the effectiveness of your traffic and award you accordingly.
