Hi, folks!

Can you recommend a free text spinning service that works well and that also has an API?

I'd appreciate it if you have used the service you recommend.

Thanks!

Why would anyone need an API for swapping out text in a random order?

    Doesn't make any sense.

For use in a piece of software, for example.

      Thanks for the reply!

I figured that much, that's what APIs are for, adding to software.

My point was it doesn't take much code to randomize text snippets/strings & repeat the process for the entire content in a For/Next loop.

I'm not a programmer, so I can't comment on that. But I imagine a spinning service will have some infrastructure (like a thesaurus) that will allow for better output.

          Thanks!

Yet you need an API? WHY?

Somedays this place is just awful.

I suspect the OP heard about a spinner that needs an API and simply wants to use it. Programming isn't required for that. Unfortunately, since these types of databases are automated, huge and remotely hosted, it's subject to downtime, hacking, and frivolous entries.

Not the best way to approach content development.

An API is the programmatic interface between services, applications, databases, etc... It's an access/window into another application or service that you would access programmatically. Programming is required.

Programming is required? Not really. Today, API access has become so simplified, sometimes it requires access to little more than a URL.

Wordpress social networking plugins are a good example of that simplicity.

You believe that this article spin thingie is so popular and advanced as to have attracted a wordpress developer to build a simplified plugin to just connect to a theme?

My guess is that any related API is so obscure and is not going to have that level of development. The only solution will likely be the need to map API calls programmatically.

I used Wordpress plugins as an example of how simple APIs have become. Nothing else. I will claim, however, that programming such a thing isn't difficult at all. It's just a list of words, for Pete's sake!

This is a solid point. A spinner would at least need database for synonyms. While the code is probably nothing spectacular it's also not trivial.

I'm not sure of this hypothetical article spinner thingie, but these plugins do exist. In fact there's even several premium content grabbers that also spin.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm not a programmer but I can work with one.

That said, the conversation seems to have been derailed a bit. I just asked if you know of any good, free text spinning services that have an API. :-)

    Thanks!
