I just found that two of my blogs are deindexed from google and I'm really curious what can cause this. Articles are hand written, pictures are bought from dreamstime stock photos, there is generic wordpress theme without any SEO. Only WP-picshield plugin is activated to avoid hotlinking images. There are no ads so far. Domains are expired, bought at godaddy auctions. I'm lost in this case, why they got ban? wehavemotive . com icsm2008side . org

  • Well, your claim about deindexation seems to match reality. I can't find either site.

Have you connected either sites to Webmaster Tools? They seem the kind of sites that you don't connect to GWT, so maybe not. However, that would be the venue for Google to contact you regarding these kind of issues.

The contents are obviously somewhat poor, and feel generated. There's a huge disconnect between the site contents and their link profiles. I'd guess that they got manually reviewed or something along those lines, but it's hard to say.

    • no, they are not connected to GWT. I agree that content is not the best one on the world, but it's not generated and pictures are related to text and bought, not stolen. Link profile is unrelated, I understand it, it's becouse of domain is expired. I have used expired domains several times and it was not a reason to ban from google. Did it happen to somebody that expired domain is banned becouse of new content is unrelated to old one?

  • Your site is banned by Google for missing any one of the following reasons.

    1. Using Bad Blog Network,
    2. Creating Negative Backlinks,
    3. Keyword Spamming,
    4. Cloaking,
    5. Hidden Text and Links.
  • I'm not sure, but I think there might be something wrong with your robots.txt file. It disallows, but doesn't allow (specifically). I don't know if that's a requirement (allowing), but maybe adding that specific directive would help... ?
  • There are major factors due to which your site will be ban from google search so avoid these Cloaking, keyword stuffing, bad linking, hidden text or coding
  • I mean your website content is copyright. I mean anywhere you copy content, he protect google copyrighting. So ban your site.

    • That doesn't make any sense. He's stated that the content is not copyrighted by anyone else, and Google doesn't care unless they receive a DMCA notification. And in that case they might drop an article, not entire site.
  • copyright is not an issue here, articles are mine and pictures are bought at dreamstime.com. and there is no cloaking, kw stuffing, hidden text or whatever somebody said above, it's wordpress with bundled basic theme with one plugin activated - wp picshield - it's against hotlinking images. It would be great if somebody can tell if he experienced google ban with this plugin in wordpress or the issue is in expired domain and unrelated new content to the old one used to be on that domain before.

  • First of all Google never banned any website or blog. According to google spider, it just de-indexed the pages according the their rules.

So for future just work on quality content and some good backlins, you will be happy to see the result.

    Thanks
  • ok guys, I just found reason for dexindexing. I did add sites to GWT as somebody told me and there were messages about websites: Thin content and Pure spam. I can understand that "thin content" as articles are not the best one (but not generated, scaped, spinned, copied!), but "pure spam" is just wrong. Do somebody know if those manual spam actions are based on algo or it is after some report from google users/competitors/etc?
  • Oh man Ivansk, that sucks! That's the risk when you buy an expired domain, especially if you don't do the proper background research on it. The good ones can be very good....and the bad ones, very bad.

For future reference, always check: Moz stats, Majestic stats, Wayback snapshots, SPAM, geo location history & keyword history. Yes, that's a LOT to look at, but if you don't you don't know what you're getting.. My advice? Try a domain crawler that grabs all that info for you quickly & reliably next time.

You've most likely bought the previous domain owners problem which is why the domain was for sale on Godaddy.

Did you do any link profile research or check Wayback for spammy webpage history before you bought the domain/s?

The domain was previously banned or

Google checked your website content manually, if it finds garbage, lots of grammar mistakes on one page, it thinks that you are not serious to running a website.

You may be using Adsense on both of your site, your other site was tracked from the Adsense ID and it was banned thinking both sites of careless owner...

But I think, it is foolishness of Google........ there are more then 30% pure garbage indexed in Google, it should check that garbage too...

Or it should have a system to track site with low quality content.......

I feel your site is good thats why ranking, even liked by your users, and comperhensive users know that there will be some grammar mistakes, it happened if you are writing in a flow and not checking the quality, but the information you are providing may be helpful the users thats why your site gets popularity....

Anyway, internet is for all, any people can share anything, in their broken language, and Google or other search engines should consider this....

I hope, if Google doesn't change its current behavior, it has more 5 years to do whatever it wants, all the quality, creative, unique stuffs will slowly transferred to new coming search engines including older search engines Yahoo and Bing....

Google, if you have the ability to index all the web content, then I have the right not to allow you to spider my content....

I am seeing slowly good response from Bing and Yahoo as well.. inf few years I hope it will increase more...
  • Could be doamain got google ban before bought at godaddy auctions, sorry for bad English
  • using latest paid SEO tools will ban your site. Use manually link-building in quality not in quantity to keep your site safe from Google all time.
