H1 tags not displaying in SEO checkup

Hello,

All pages and posts have the keywords and description in the "Title" which is suppose to be H1 for on-page SEO. However, after I run a site SEO checkup to get a report of what I need to fix, there are zero H1 tags. I am pretty certain something is cloaking them, probably the theme from what I have read. My problem is, I don't have a clue how to get Google to see them if they are hidden. Yoast says I have them too so this is a mystery. An help would be great!

Check HTML source for <h1>. That should solve this kind of mystery.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Whatever you are using for your "SEO checkup" sounds like it just sucks.

On "view Source" for the home page, there is no H1 but I do see them other pages and posts. As far as the quality of SEO checkup, granted they were free but I did use three different ones. When I couldn't believe how it reported zero, I went looking for another. Does anyone have something better to recommend?

Really strange... Never happened to me, can you change it to H2 for example to see if it's working? Is this a specific plugin?

Yeah, it happens some times with many themes. Your SEO plugins may be saying that you have one h1 tag but its not visible. Try to check your theme settings first & I will also recommend you to take a look on your 'wordpress admin panel> Appearances> Customize'.

expmrb, thanks. Yeah, I have been all over the appearance and theme customize a million times thinking that I was crazy but I can't do any more with what I see. Maybe it is as Mike suggested, everything is fine and the SEO checkup report was giving me bad info. I do wish there was a definitive report that I could rely on.

Check by disabling the SEO Yoast plugin of yours along with other SEO plugins that comprises the head tag functioning. You have to check it manually one by one. I hope this helps.

expmrb, Your suggestion is to move forward with a process of elimination to determine if for example Yoast is the the culprit in masking the H1's? I did read of another person changing their theme and suddenly the H1's appear. Maybe there is an incompatibility with a plugin causing this.

The following H1 tag should be used in following format
    <h1 style=”font-size:14px; ”><a href=”http://” title=”How are you feeling”>I feel better than yestarday</a></h1>

You can check it through yoast plugin.

If you do not see H1's in the source code of the page, then yeah they are definitely not there.

I really doubt it is a plugin. I have never come across a plugin that strips out H1 tags. It is most likely the theme.

If you do not know how to update the code yourself, then change your theme.
