I'm just wondering which one is more relevant?

I'm using 2 keyword tools and one is giving me the local search numbers while the other is giving me the global search numbers. I'm using exact search on Google and the 2 keyword tools, which number should I be taking notice of, Global or Local?

Thanks
#global #google #local #search #volume

If you take a look at the Google External Keyword tool, you'll see that by default, results are tailored to the US market . . . however that can be changed.

If your campaign only targets New Zealand, you don't want to be using either the default local or global results. You need to edit the location setting to NZ.

The tools you are using will almost certainly have a setting that you can edit in this respect.

I think its depends on your customer scope.

I'm not interested in location, just how many times that phrase is searched for.

Just a bit confused as to which figure I should be taking into account.

      Thanks anyways....

Okay . . . let me have another crack at this :-)

Which one you should use depends in the first instance on whether your offer targets a specific country, or the global market (rather obvious really).

If you ARE targeting the global market then be aware that the global search volume represents the average volume over the most recent 12 months . . . so if there are significant seasonal variations, these will not be evident in the average figure.

You can learn more about those seasonal ups and downs by going to Google Trends or looking at the trend graph in Market Samurai.

        Hope this helps.

try using market samurai, they have a free trial but the keyword research is always free, they do tell you how many searches your particular keyword gets a day and how many you would get if you had the no 1 spot. One thing though, it is global traffic or i have not figured out how to geo target it.

You can geo target by using the settings function when beginning a search.

I use both MNF and MS but sometimes they give me different numbers, one using global one using local.

    Dear,
If you want local market for your products then google local search is good and if you want to launch your search for entire world then google global results is perfect for 2 keywords.

the search volume of a certan KW is of course highly connected with the location
it is the people who are searching all the time and people are influnced bu the culture in the place they are living in
