It would be stupid to use two SEO plugins together that do the same thing.

I do not particularly care for it. It's mostly filled with useless junk. Their scoring system, and Yoast's too, should be ignored.

Somebody who knows a lot less about SEO will be along shortly though I'm sure to tell you how great these WP plugins are and why you should use them.

Well he is obviously a beginner, who is seeking an easy solution for SEO.
He is asking about using multiple plugins...

How about instead of simply asserting your expertise and telling him to skip plugins entirely you give him some guidance on how to proceed.

Like explaining why these plugins are bad, and what he should do instead.

What is his implementation? Is Yoast and All in one, always a bad choice in every use case?

You raised more questions than you answered. Heck you said you dislike them because they have too much junk, without explaining what the junk is.
How does this help people who are looking for information and are new to things?

So why should these plugins be avoided?

No, you have to use one at a time. it's not possible to use 2 at a time.

Anything that tells you keyword density is important and gives you an SEO score where that is factored in is junk.

Putting two plugins together will **** up stuff like canonical tags. They will usually create multiple canonical tags, which can be a problem.

Adding useless plugins to a site increases your site's vulnerability to hackers. Yoast, for example, recently had a big vulnerability exposed. So why double up on plugins that are doing the same thing?

There are no easy solutions to SEO.

None of the plugins focus on site structure, URL structure, internal linking, or LSI. They focus on stupid crap like is a keyword in your title and in your content X number of times. If it is, you get a big green light saying your page is "SEO Optimized". Then those same people come back here weeks later wondering why they are only ranking #127 since Yoast told them they "did everything right."

Ah so you are saying it is incomplete, and that people who are putting all their faith in the plugin to optimize for them are missing out on key elements of SEO.

      Thanks for the clarification.

I agree with the premise. People do need to delve deeper into SEO if they want it to work well.

I think the SEO green light thing is a placebo effect to give people who want a push button easy solution some peace of mind. At the end of the day, though if they are not learning best practices for themselves or acquiring an expert on their team then they will be losing out.

Can't be the best without trying I suppose.
